Midoriya stumbled backward, feeling a hot spot on his cheek where a daring villain had just punched him. He smirked at the villain, knowing damn well the punk in front of him didn't stand a chance. He lunged at the male while avoiding the silver spikes coming from all over his body, Izuku kicked the villain's legs out from under him and shoved the crook into the alley wall. Izuku had been trying to enjoy a cheap microwaveable dinner when he got a call about a jewellery shop robbery a few blocks from his apartment, and even though he was off duty Izuku still dropped everything in exchange for catching said villain.

Now the villain was in handcuffs, and as Midoriya looked up from putting the crook into the back of a cop car, he saw a blonde across the street. A blonde who he’d been chasing for months. The blonde he had spent nights tracking to finally arrest him. The villain had been involved with the kudo-kai yakuza group, and Izuku was hoping he could be the key to bring down the infamous yakuza group.

The greenette sprinted across the street, not caring about the possibility of getting hit by a car, not when he's right there. The blonde spooks at the sight of the pro hero and runs down a side street, taking a sharp left and throws an alleyway garbage can out behind himself in a failing attempt to slow Izuku down. Swifty, the greenette jumped over the sad hurdle and continued to charge at the blonde a few feet in front of him. A jolt of excitement rushed down Izuku's spine

He's so close!

Izuku had been chasing this blondie for months, he seemed to find the villain almost everywhere but, he just couldn't quite catch him every time. It was almost like he wanted to be caught, yet every. Single. Time. the uncanny blonde slipped away.

Midoriya grabbed the blonde's ankle with his black whip, pulling his foot out from under him. The villain fell on his face and hurriedly scrambled to get back up, however the greenette pulled the blonde toward him with his black whip again. His heart was pounding, he knew this time he would finally catch this villain. As soon as the blonde was close enough for Izuku to grab, the villain twisted around and suddenly, all Midoriya could see was a blindingly bright light.

An explosion went off right in his face, and fuck did it hurt. In the brief pause it took for Izuku to regain his composure, the blonde had managed to get back up and continue running. The greenette cursed as he dove back into chasing the blonde. He saw the villain in front of him almost slip as he turned right down another windowless alley.

Izuku's blood hammered in his ears, his eyes narrowing in on his prey. Yet as Midoriya darts around the corner, there's no one. The villain was gone. And after checking every possible place he could have gone, Izuku's fist slams down on a brick wall beside him.

The greenette pushed his forest green hair out of his face as he made his way back to the main road. Izuku mindlessly waves down a cab while actively ignoring the hot pain in his knuckles.

How does he always get away?

Ironically, like in the movies, clouds gathered and rain pours down. The soothing sound seemed to wash away his overthinking- a bad habit of his. Why was he over thinking this anyway? The blonde was just like every other villain he’d tracked down, there was nothing different about him.

As Midoriya sat in a lulling silence he felt the car come to a stop, he paid the driver and half walked half ran to his apartment building to avoid being soaked. The cold silver door handle is like an ice pack on his hand. He quickly makes it to the elevator and presses a shiny gold button up to his fancy ass penthouse. Izuku knew he didn't need an expensive place but, why not? It was way too big for just him since it had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a massive living room, and a beautiful kitchen with marble counter tops and an island.

The greenette only really uses one bedroom for himself, but the other rooms did come in handy when his drunken friends had to stay the night. As his heavy boots hit his apartment's floor mat, he realised his long-forgotten frozen dinner was still sitting alone and cold. With a huff Izuku peels off his hero suit to swap it out for a pair of sweats and a hoodie.

As Midoriya throws out the soggy left-out food, opting for a bowl of cereal instead, he can't seem to get the image of the blonde's silky hair out of his head. The way it bounced as he ran, the way the evening sun made it shine. It was so unfair, why did the villain get perfect hair? He shook his head and plopped down on his couch.

It didn't take long for Izuku to finish his cereal, shower, and climb into bed. Tonight however his usually comfy bed did nothing to aid his wandering mind. He couldn't help but wonder why he was always spotting the blonde, yet he could never catch him. Izuku was pretty sure the explosion from earlier was the blonde's quirk, he had so many questions about the man's quirk. He wanted to know if he could control the size of his explosions, did the explosions burn him when he made them? Maybe when Midoriya finally caught the villain he would ask.

The greenette was also confused about the blonde's role in the yakuza group. From what Midoriya and the police had gathered on the group, the blonde only committed petty crimes, yet the villain seemed to be in the group's inner circle. Izuku rolled over and closed his eyes, forcing himself to at least pretend to sleep. The idea of the blondie staying with him as he eventually fell asleep.
