I made this inspired by how my friends and I treat each other, except I didn't wanna make a story about just one of my friends so I won't use names. Don't get attached to these characters—- they don't even have a design or name.
(It's only gonna use she/her pronouns for person 1 and he/him pronouns for person 2)
Just a reminder, this is short stories to get used to wattpad and practice writing! Which means I need constructive criticism/advice!!

"Don't you think you should take a break?" He inquired
"Hm?"
"I mean, your so selfless, almost carefree, you always try your hardest to help everyone around you, and you try to maintain all your talents and goals"
She sighs, hanging her head low for a second. Wishing for a day of silence, until she sighs.
"You know? you're right. I'm trying. I'm trying to juggle all these different things, but I can't. I just wish I could." She lifts her head up, in an attempt to look him in the eyes. Failing, and just dodging any eye contact.
"But... why? You know you can't be this 'perfect little smart angel' forever."
"I accept that." She exhales out, breathlessly. Maybe a little agitated, but she'd never speak her thought.
"Then quit trying, please. You're overworking yourself."
"But, if I'm not her. Then I'm nobody. I'm myself because of this act I put on. You are the ONLY person who knows what I'm like, and it's for a reason."
She sighs, her book on her face falling. Why'd she admit it? She doesn't know. God~ she wishes she didn't

"Why?" He turns to face her, a look of shock on his face.
"Because. You're the closest friend I have. You have other best friends, yes, but I have you and a few others. The other people aren't as close as I am to you, making you the only person I feel safe with."

He sighs, laying down on the couch, laying on his stomach. Listening attentively whilst reading a book.
Meanwhile, the girl rests on the seat in front of of said couch. She rolls her head back, staring at the buzzing ceiling fan.
"Remember how we first met? We were so different, it's almost amazing how much we changed." She laughs softly, memories flooding in.
"Yeah, of course I do. Remember how you were unaware that I hated you?" He looks at her with a smile, pointing at her.
"God, that was a HORRIBLE realization," she giggles out, "I was sooo gullible, it was honestly amazing living in ignorant bliss..."
"Yeah!"
As they grew quieter, lost in memories, the silence grew louder.
And louder.
Until

"Hey, do you remember that one kid who brought us together?" She stands up, walking to the kitchen.
"Oh! Yeah, I remember. I truly do wonder where he went..." he perks his head up, before fully sitting up to see where she's going. He stands up, walking behind her

"Whatcha makin?" He rests his arms on the table, leaning over to see her shutting the freezer
"Just the only food I know HOW to make." she lifts up a bag full of pizza rolls, and sets them aside to prepare the air fryer

"You know, you can't live on air-fried pizza rolls..."
"Yeah, of course I can't. Why do you think I have you?" She says with a smirk
He rolls his eyes "oh, ha. Your such a picky eater but somehow you'd eat anything I'd make you"
"Our bond is stronger than my pickiness, feel proud of yourself!"
"I would love to, but I feel like you're slave. Or chef."
She closes the air fryer, turning around happily, with the slyest grin, she says "well, you'd make a wonderful chef!"
"And you'd make a wonderful... eh- everything"
"Really?" She says with an exaggerated sigh, "such an honor, but what I said was personally fitting for you~ you could say what you said to anyone~ wah, wah.... My feelings are hurt!" She lays her head on the countertop, looking up at him with a smile

"You're the bestest friend I could ever have."
"You are too!"

And as they both eat their own food, they decide it's time to sleep~
"Goodnight, brother!"
"I'm not even your brother."
...
"But goodnight, sis"
