Chapter Seventeen

After that day Serena's family began to slowly work out their kinks with one another, she slowly began to trust her siblings as her parents slowly began to trust in one another once more. It took a while before things weren't like walking on egg shells in the house, they also moved into a different place that wasn't on a hill to somewhere much bigger and better for all of them. In the house that they had moved into Serena was able to get her own room with an actual door on it. She was thankful for it but it didn't help the growing pains of losing Arthur, even if he hadn't been there long it was long enough for her to grow a small attachment to him and feel as if there was a dark void within her chest. She couldn't do anything that she would have on her laptop due to the fact that she had dealt with what she had. Serena stopped her daily ritual and she stopped being focused on the spiritual part of her religion.

Serena focused her attention more on her studies and on working part time at night with her father. As she saved up her money her last two years of college she managed to find herself getting into her own apartment. Even though she didn't like being alone, she knew that she had to grow up and do things on her own. As she went through another two years of college to get her associates degree, she felt herself getting more and more dis attached to things.

She felt like her life meant nothing and stopped her hobbies totally and completely. She instead chose to go on with her life, knowing damn well that her life wouldn't change if she didn't push the change. She went onto every dating site that she could find and tried to fill the void inside of her, but nothing seemed to work for months until she saw a picture of a male that looked almost too much like Arthur.
She looked at the name to see 'Arthur 24', it was a gamble and chose to go with the male. It wasn't soon after that-that she had managed to get messaged by the male.

Arthur: Hello love, do you remember me?

Serena stiffened as she sat on her couch looking down at her screen, she teared up at the thought of the male being the male she missed all these years.

Serena: Don't yank my chain, you can't seriously be telling me that you're the same male that I knew four years ago.

Arthur: Oh you think so?

Arthur: Serena Bates, you think very lowly of people still..don't you?

Serena didn't like how things were going, she swore to herself she wasn't going to allow herself to get caught up with anything that reminded her of the male she once placed her entire heart into.

Serena: Do you truly think that you can fool me?!

Serena: It's not going to work on me!

Serena: There's no way in hell you're the same guy that I knew four years go

Serena: He's from somewhere else!

Arthur: What if I told you that ignorance is bliss?

Arthur: What if I told you that all that you knew...was completely wrong?

Serena was silent as she thought about what he had wrote and began to tear up and cry as she covered her mouth with her left hand. She couldn't believe what she had read and what had happened.

Serena: If you are him...

Serena: If you are the male I once knew

Serena: Why...

Serena: Why didn't you find me sooner than this?!

Arthur: I'm sorry but there was work I had to do

Arthur: I'm actually not far from where you live love

Arthur: I wish to see you again-if you allow me to Serena

Arthur: I want to show you that I'm not messing with your mind nor your heart, I never wanted to leave-I never wanted you to be broken hearted love. Things happened I know, but we can fix things
