Chapter Eighteen

Serena just stared at the screen for a bit before she shut her screen off and just cried into her hands. She swore she was going to get over him, she didn't want to feel the pain she had felt over again. She didn't want to be let down anymore, as she cried message after message from Arthur came as notifications to her.

Arthur: I know you have trust issues

Arthur: I know this may hurt you emotionally

Arthur: But I've never stopped loving you Serena

Arthur: I knew you'd want to try to push away what you felt

Arthur: So I figured this was the best thing to do to get your attention

Arthur: You're not alone love

Arthur: Please answer me Serena

After seeing that message, she got her phone and she quickly messaged him back her address before she shut her phone off. She went to bed so she could try to sleep some-what before she had classes and work the next day. When she woke up around seven am she managed to get herself dressed and grabbed her things for work and for school before heading out. She went into her car and drove off, she shook off the feeling she felt of maybe seeing Arthur again. But she kept telling herself that she was over thinking things-he didn't really exist, he was just an animated character to personify a country...that's all he was.

When she got to her first class, which was a math class she noticed a familiar blond haired male coming into the room. She averted her eyes from the door and quickly got to work on the math problems in front of her. The blond male sat beside her and worked as well, he wouldn't say a word to her-as to not freak her out. When the teacher came in and attendance was taken the teacher began to flirt with some of the female students, while making fun out of the rest of the female students-her being one of them.

Serena ignored it as she placed headphones on to ignore the teacher. The blond male realized that the teacher didn't really teach them, that they were all on their own with things and had to rely on one another. The male noticed that Serena would work rather quietly and quickly with every problem before moving on to the next one. When it became time for the end of class Serena had finished her work and shut her books and packed everything up before signing out and leaving the class without a word. The blond male quickly followed her before he grabbed onto her wrist making her stop.

"Love wait...please...can't we talk?"

Serena didn't want to look behind her and get disappointed, but she knew if she didn't she'd regret it with her life. So she looked behind her to the male with sadness in her eyes as she took her headphones off of her ears. "What is it?"

Hearing the female speak, made his heart melt as he smiled at her. "I would have thought you'd be a lot happier seeing me love."

She averted her eyes as she looked away from him. "Why would I be happy seeing someone who could have easily just flown home instead of having me use magick to take them back?"

Arthur was silent as he frowned at her. "L-Love?"

"Listen, we haven't seen each other in four years-a lot has changed. Let's just finish classes before trying to sort anything out." Serena said before she took her hand from his grasp and went to her next class

He sighed out in defeat before he dealt with going through the courses with her, after two more classes, Serena went to her car and she was followed by Arthur who had parked right beside her. Serena leaned against her car as she looked at him. "So, what made you be here instead of in London?"

"I've missed you, I knew where you were so..so I figured I could look for you but it took me a while since I was dealing with a lot at home."

She sighed as she opened the door to her car and went inside. "You should have just dropped me Arthur...I'm not worth your time."
