Chapter Twenty

When Mark and his wife came back with Serena, her smile left her face as she followed her parents up to the second floor. Arthur was sick of her avoiding him, he couldn't stand the fact that she would do so. But he waited to see what would happen, two hours later Lucas came back not only with Linda but with another child as well and a female he didn't know. Lucas was stunned to see Arthur there.

"Oh hey Arthur, is my sister here?" Lucas asked

"Serena? Yeah she's here-but she won't even talk to me let alone look at me." Arthur said sadly

The woman beside Lucas looked at him as he looked at her. "Babe think you can talk sense into my sister?"

"I can try, I don't know how well it'll work though. She and I haven't talked in a while." The female said before she took the smaller child with her up stairs

When the female went upstairs Linda went up to Arthur. "Awthur, auntie rena has missed you lots, she cries lots."

Arthur looked to Lucas who nodded his head. "She's telling the truth, usually Serena doesn't show her emotions around Linda-but she breaks down a lot around her for some reason."

"Linda, have you been concerned about your aunt?" Arthur asked Linda

Linda nodded her head. "I miss seeing her smile and having her play with me."

"Well if you can get her to talk to me if what that lady does doesn't work then you'll be able to see her smile again I promise."

Linda nodded her head again before Lucas spoke up. "So how have you been Arthur?"

"Well, I didn't know if I could actually see Serena again so I didn't really do much after getting home. It wasn't until two or so years ago when my younger brother Alfred told me that he had found a girl that was apparently perfect for me-Jokingly mind you. Just to humor him I did look into who he had found only to see that Serena had began to try to forget me by online dating. It was then that I knew where I am supposed to be and where you all are, they somehow collided together. She didn't need to send me back...so I wanted to go back to her but business kept me busy up until now." Arthur explained

"Do you still love her?" Lucas asked

Arthur frowned. "More than anything in this world-but I know she isn't going to want to be anywhere around me. Her mind and heart are too tainted, she...she seems bent on not being around me."

"Things will work out I promise." Lucas stated "My girlfriend is Serena's childhood friend Gena. They go way back. If anyone can crack Rena it's her."

"Alright...if you say so."

"I do say so."

When it became time for dinner Serena was forced to sit beside Arthur, she didn't say anything or even look at him. Alice could tell that things were getting tense at the table so she wanted to loosen it a bit by talking with Serena. "so Serena, how's college?"

"Same old, Same old. Damn teacher never got fired-he still harasses me and other girl students." Serena said with a sigh

"I would have thought they'd do something after what happened to you." Emily said shocked

"You'd think, but nope. Apparently what happened to me didn't count as 'rape' since it was his word as a teacher against mine. There were no cameras where it happened." She said as she frowned

"Didn't you bring in the doctors papers from the rape kit?" Lucas asked

"I had, but they brushed it off to the side. That school hates me apparently." Serena said with a shrug
