History 201

Orientation

Good afternoon students,This is history 201. I am your instructor Alan Equaious.

Today we will be going over orientation and what you can expect from me and from this class.

 I will start with a brief Biography;

I am Doctor Alan Equaious, born 112 in standard time. I am currently a professor and fellow here at UIC. (Universities of the capitol) 

I am an avid study of history and believe that our way to future can only be found by examining our past. I am a lifelong learner and one reason I love teaching is being able to gain new insights from my students. 

I hope you will all adopt this mentality as well going into this class. 

Moving on I'll be going over what we will be examining this semester. First we will be examining the journal of a traveler. The name of this traveler is still in fact a mystery but we will be studying the time period surrounding the traveler and how it intersects with our modern lives.

 Second we will be doing a in depth analysis of "The Loner, The Coward, The Bitch" Which recounts the myth that led to the segregation and unification of the 3 kingdoms. A culture shift that is still wildly relevant today.

 Your final project will be on a piece that I will not disclose to you quite yet. But it is my favorite part of the class and I am confident it will be yours as well.. 

Finally I ask that everyone who participates in these discussions does their best to leave their Biases at the door. We are going to be viewing some controversial issues in a historical light and I request that we do so with the upmost respect for the material and for each other.
