There was a noticeably jolly mood in the leaf village, and understandably so. After all their very own hero was getting married. People from all over the elemental nations came together to celebrate, some to appreciate him for his efforts in saving their lives, others that had already been touched by him - most notably Inari who came with his mother from the land of waves. He was now 15, and had grown up quite a bit. His mother surprisingly looked no different from when Naruto last saw her - and that was a few years back. He was happy to see them, but a bit saddened that Tazuna had passed away the year before. Tazumi quickly banished the moodiness not wanting to spoil his day.
"Last I saw you, you were a scrawny kid. Now you're getting married" she said thinking back to the Naruto she knew, the smiling blond in a kill-me orange jumpsuit. He had told her about his teammates, and the unfortunate turn of events, but there was hope. All wasn't lost.
They both looked curiously as a cat slunk it's way behind Naruto, then leapt onto his shoulder and stared at them.
"You have a cat? I thought you were a dog person?" Inari asked confused.
"Well about my story. This cat believe it or not is Sasuke"
Much like everyone who heard they looked at him in disbelief.
"You're saying he came back as a ... cat?"
"Guess so, but at least he's here. I'll need his support, especially today" Naruto said with a small smile. The cat much to their shock seemed to smile too, maybe they were seeing things?
"We'll leave you to go get ready. See you in there" Tazumi waved as she and Inari left.
"Meow"
"Yeah. He's grown up alot"
"Meow"
"That's inappropriate Sasuke" Naruto said as he and the cat left.
They headed towards their home, when Sasuke suddenly jumped down and ran off in a certain direction. Naruto followed, knowing all too well where he was going.
He stopped at a distance, leaving him to do his thing. Every day, Sasuke visited Sakura's graveside. The regret and sadness that his eyes showed, was startling for a cat. Very few times, it seemed he cried, though Naruto may have just imagined that part.
A few minutes later, he replaced the wilting flower he had put some days before with a new one, and padded slowly over to Naruto.
"You done?"
"Meow"
"Let's go get ready"

-
The hall was filled to the brim, well wishers, friends, officials. All to see Naruto off on his big day.
Some of his teachers were high on emotions - especially Iruka, who was asked by Naruto to play the role of his father. The Kage and their aides and delegates were also present, truth be told it was quite a big deal. Gaara was there, both as a Kage, and as a brother. He was truly happy for both his sister, and his friend, a small part of him thanking whoever was up there that they ended up together. Kankuro unlike his younger brother didn't know how to hide his emotions, and was very dramatic in his expressions.
Behind the doors, the couple of the day stood nervously. Naruto took a few breaths, and felt a soft hand wrap his.
"You'll be okay. We're doing this together" Temari said reassuringly.
Naruto nodded and smiled at her, and the doors parted. The congregation stood up, as the couple slowly walked up to the front, with most taking note of a black cat, not far behind them.
Kakashi smiled under his mask. He was proud of them, both of them.
As they stood facing each other, and Naruto looked at how angelic his wife-to-be looked. He thought back to the beginning, where it all started.
What did he do to deserve such a woman? He didn't know, but he was going to take the opportunity. He wasn't even paying attention, all his focus on her, and blinked as she mouthed certain words to him.
"I do" he repeated.
The crowd clapped and cheered as they were pronounced husband and wife. His eyes stung a little, and he looked up to hide the small tears that threatened to fall.
"Mom, Dad, I hope you're watching me. I'm going to be the best husband I can be, and the best father. Wish me luck"
The black cat sat silently at a small headstone, in silence, but it had a small glint in it's eyes.
He was happy, that Naruto had found happiness, despite how he nearly took it all away. He would never truly forgive himself for that, and would try to make it up - somehow.
"Please take care of Naruto okay?" a soft feminine voice spoke, as the wind blew gently rustling the leaves in the trees. The cat nodded, and left, leaving an invisible, yet happy spectre to herself.
"Good luck Naruto"

3 Years Later
"Ugh. My head is killing me" Naruto groaned.
"Well you'll certainly be just that if you don't get home on time" Shikamaru warned.
Temari was a scary person when she was annoyed, and missing dinner was a sure way to rile her up, although he did kind of like seeing her like that. Call him weird but it was kind of hot, not that he'd admit that out loud.
"Guess so. See you later" he waved leaving his friend to his cloud watching.
Naruto arrived home, and not even two steps in was tackled by a small blond missile.
"Daddy you're home!"
"Ow ... but yeah. I'm home" he groaned as the girl hit pretty hard for someone her age.
"Welcome home honey" a familiar voice greeted. Naruto looked up and smiled at the love of his life.
"Let's go have dinner"
The family sat at the table, and then out walked Sasuke, who by now was quite large for a cat - and a bit chubby.
"What happened to you?" Naruto asked in confusion.
"Daddy, I put a bow on Sasuke. He looks so pretty" the girl said swooning over the feline. Naruto's eye twitched sensing the smugness oozing of the cat.
"Settle down Mika. Let Sasuke be" Temari said calling back the girls attention.
Sasuke curled up near Naruto, who smiled.
"You little shit"
