~ it's rude to stare ~

Emaline Throndsone

The castle was huge and beautiful. It was the exact same replica as the one that I used to see in fairytale movies, although it looked much better in person. I looked around the room, and it didn't seem to be filled with vampires that I knew were there ,besides the dark room and glasses filled with blood it didn't seem to be a place filled with vampires it was almost comforting. The comfort left as soon as I saw a woman sticking her vangs into what seemed to be a servant. Everyone was wearing white, excluding Brielle and I, I couldn't help but feel how much of an outsider I was, and the attention wasn't comforting

"it's rude to stare." Brielle told me as she wrapped her hand around my waist to guide me through the crowded room. We went to what seemed like a thrown, and I was reminded that Brielle was royalty. We sat in silence for a while, and I could feel every pair of eyes on me  before I heard an unfamiliar voice speak

"Well, isn't it the abounded daughter. First your mother, then your father, then your stepmother. I didn't think you could mess up so well, no wait... you did." The voice laughed in a shrill voice as if it were the funniest thing in the world. I followed the voice with my eyes, trying to locate the owner

She was in a slim fit dress that had a slit on the side, showing only a little bit of her legs and heals to match the white attire. She looked expensive with her huge hoop earrings and make-up done to perfection with her blue eyes trying so hard to intimidate Brielle but she seemed unfazed by her presence that she didn't even bother to answer nor did she look at her

"Doing the only thing you know how to I see.I thought as much when you acted the same way you did when your father left. Quiet" She poked at Brielle's emotions, and Brielle still didn't react. The more the lady mentioned it, the more I wondered what happened to Brielle's father? Maybe she was bothered by him leaving, that's why she didn't say anything

"I don't say anything because I don't entertain people that clearly don't have a well functioning mind." Brielle finally spoke but didn't spare her the glance ,"Daniel, get out of there, I can feel you."

A person came out of the shadow, and I was so shocked enough that I had to remind myself to breathe normally and to relax. This was normal in the vampire world, and I'm assuming the one who got out of the shadows must have been Daniel, or maybe he was invisible

"Seriously, when are you going to finally let me get away with that?" He chuckled, giving Brielle a hug, and Brielle stood up as she was uncomfortable at how they all stood around her

"Not any time soon. This is Emaline, my pet." Brielle introduced me, and I got up as all the attention shifted to me. I extended my hand and gave him a handshake and a smile, remembering that I shouldn't speak to anyone

"Daniel, she's my cousin, and this my sister Danielle. We're twins." he shook my hand in return, and Danielle rolled her eyes at me, and I could feel the instant disgust

"She smells of human." Was what she said as she returned her focus back to Brielle. "I changle you to a family brawl. The winner takes your pet." She smiled as she said that, and my heart quickened at the statement

Was she serious? She insulted me, and now she wants me.

"It's hard to believe your fascination with me is just a role model and not obsession. She's off limits. I suggest you find someone else to quench your thirst." Brielle spoke, looking less relaxed and more firm as she stood head to head with Danielle, although Danielle was shorter and made her seem so weak against Brielle

This couldn't be happening. I thought to myself. Did I just turn people against each other? No, I didn't because they seemed to have issues before I arrived

"Well, now you're scared? Shame, and here I thought you could keep what you actually had. Like you deserved it." Danielle laughed as she studied me. "She's quiet, though, but I'm sure I can fix that."

"Danielle, stop thi-."

"Shut up before I make you." Danielle stopped Daniel from continuing his command, but Daniel obeyed her anyway, and I was starting to get afraid that Brielle might let me go with her to

"Fine, but when I win, you owe me, and I get to keep her." Brielle spoke, sounding bored and uninvested in what she was saying

"Cocky now, aren't we?" Danielle extended her hand as her eyes turned green and shook hands with Brielle, whose eyes turned blood red, and next minute, she was gone. Now I'm convinced all vampires can disappear and reappear out of nowhere

"I'm sorry she's convinced she can beat you and prove herself or whatever." Daniel apologized on behalf of her sister's behavior. He was very sympathetic

"As per usual." Brielle brushed it off, taking a glass of what seemed to blood and handed it to Daniel. "Drink up and enjoy. I'll be on the dance floor if you need me." Brielle took me by the hand to the dance floor.

People made room for us, but they seemed to be running away rather than making room but Brielle didn't react to them as she put my hands around her neck and her hands on my waist pulling me closer towards her. A slow song started only because of us, and I couldn't help but crumble at the attention, I could feel everyone's eyes on me, and it didn't help that we were the only ones in different attire compared to everyone else who was there. The more I swayed to the music, the more I my hurt started to race

"Attention is power. It's good to know people look at you and take you in, regardless of the reason. That means people care, " Brielle told me in a low tone, trying to calm me down, feeling how off the edge I felt. I inhaled deeply and calmly as I exhaled

"I won't let her touch you, never mind taking you with her." Brielle pulled me closer in a comforting manner, and I couldn't help but melt into her touch. I put my head on her chest as she gently and tightly held on to me, but as the time passed, her grip got too tight on me and I couldn't hold in how much pain I was feeling.

"Brielle, you're hurting me." I finally spoke up to her, and she loosened her grip on me. I couldn't ignore the thought that I had done something wrong to act this way.

Was she hiding her frustration and letting it out on me unconsciously because I am the cause of her frustration?
