A whole twenty-four hours passed with no incident and the Salvatores could rest easy knowing I had no vampire blood in my system.
I didn't sleep well that night, staying mostly awake leading to dark circles under my tired eyes. It was such a horrible experience being kidnapped, especially if the supernatural is involved.
I've been having nightmares since then, recurring ones.
It always starts the same way. I'm standing in the woods at night. The moon is bright and pale, adding an eerie glow to the dark trees. I can always feel something–a presence watching me, lurking just beyond the shadows.
Sometimes I hear a faint whisper. Other times, it's the crack of a branch or the sound of leaves, just enough to make my pulse race. I can't see anyone, but I know I'm not alone.
There's always this deep, ingrained that something's out there–something waiting for me to make a move. And every time, just when I feel like I'm about to turn around and face whatever it is, I wake up.
Elena called me to say that Stefan had some important news to share with her so she decided to have me tag along. Even though Stefan specifically said to leave me out of it, Lena thought I deserved to know. I wasn't technically involved, just in the know. No harm, no foul.
So, here I was, driving to the Salvatore mansion with Elena in the passenger seat. I messed around with her by doing pulls in my beloved Mustang GT, much to her delight. She was shrieking with laughter as I sped around cars and made it there in record time. I was beyond happy that the boys found my black clutch with the car keys right next to it.
We pulled up to the large manor and walked up to the porch with giggles. Elena knocked and Damon opened it, surprised at my presence.
"I thought Stefan told you to stay out of all of this, Willow," Damon narrowed his eyes with amusement. "Yeah well, I'm just observing today," I stuck my tongue out before walking inside. Stefan walked down the stairs before greeting Elena.
He looked almost mad at my presence, raising his eyebrows. "Didn't we agree on you being not involved for your safety?" Stefan asked with an annoyed tone.
"I'm just a bystander, here to listen, plus Elijah wanted to kidnap me too," I argued. Stefan bit his lip before nodding with a heavy sigh. "Okay, but this doesn't change anything!" he warned. I rolled my eyes mocking his tone. He lightly nudged me with his elbow.
"So, what is this about?" Elena questioned, setting her bag down on the couch.
My head snapped towards footsteps coming around the corner. Immediately, anger filled me at the sight of my kidnapper; Rose.
"It's about the both of you," she stated.
"What the fuck is she doing here?" I seethed, my eyes narrowed.

We all sat on the living room couch, watching as Rose paced back and forth.
"Okay, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not true. It's the problem with all this vampire crap but Klaus, I know he's real," she said, moving her arms around her.
I was leaning against Lena, feeling so tense with my kidnapper being here. I did not trust her one bit.
"Who is he?" Elena asked, absentmindedly drawing circles on my arm.
Damon chimed in, "He's one of the Originals, he's a legend."
Stefan added, "From the first generation of vampires."
Elena stated, "Like Elijah, right?" I furrowed my brows at the thought of the dead vampire, remembering his expression of pain and the web of black veins across his body.
"Yes, exactly like Elijah," Rose answered.
Stefan said, "Klaus is known to be the oldest." Oh great.
"Okay, so you're saying that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after us?" I asked, my voice cracking.
Rose and Stefan answered "yes" and "no" at the same time before looking at each other. Immediately my anxiety went up and I dropped my head into my hands and groaned.
"Rose, you still haven't said why Klaus is after me. We know he wants Elena but why am I even involved? I'm no doppelgänger and my family is human," I asked. She stopped her pacing and looked at me, tilting her head in thought.
"Elijah never told us specifically, only that your bloodline was incredibly important. He said that Klaus would want to use you for his own power and he would never let that happen."
Frustration built up in my chest before I blurted out, "This is fucking ridiculous. We killed the one vampire who had a chance against Klaus and who could protect me." I got up, so done with this.
"Now, we're sitting ducks until Klaus decides to come get us," I vented and threw my arms up in annoyance.
Damon took fake offense at my comment, holding a hand to his chest with a hurt expression. "Wow, Willow. You don't have any faith in us at all, do you?" I huffed and rolled my eyes. Stefan said nothing, looking even more worried after my statement. He stared at me with concern in his murky green eyes."Okay, me and Willow need to head to class," Elena said while standing up. I looked at her and checked my phone, realizing we were late. Oh shit.
"Let me grab my stuff, I'll go with you," Stefan offered.
Elena shook her head, "It's okay, I know where it is." Damn, that was cold. I watched Stefan's hurt expression for a second before he nodded and sat down on the comfy couch.
She heads out and I follow her, shooting a wave to everyone. We enter my car and I start driving us towards school before Elena says, "Wait. Let's go pick up Caroline." My frustration seeped out in my tone, "Lena we're already late. I'm not picking her up." Elena huffed and mumbled a fine before getting out of the car and slamming the door. I rolled down my window and scolded her, "Elena!"
"I'll have Caroline drive me, there's something I need to do," she said annoyed before heading to Care's house three blocks away.
I stared at her for a moment, so confused by her behavior. "Okay, whatever," I mumbled angrily and put the shifter into reverse.
I sped to school, definitely not going the speeding limit.
