it's been a few months since i've met niki and i'm happier and i love our little talks even though we live so far.

"hey dahlia, you know what would be crazy?" niki asked through the phone.

"what?" i reply, staring at the ceiling.

"what if we met up? like i could introduce you to my friends and you can introduce me to yours!"

"that would be awesome!"

"could we do it? please!" she was very excited which in favor, made me happy.

"um sure! i don't have anything planned that's important other than work. how long do we plan to stay?" i get up from my bed, to my computer.

"maybe a week, or two."

"sure let's do it! let me buy tickets."

"yes! you can come over if you want, but if you don't want to i can go ever there?"

"i can go over there, i've been wanting an excuse to have a small vacation."

we plan it in two days time.

after we end the call i jump up and down with joy and tell schlatt.

"schlatt." i knock on his door.

"what happened?" he opens it.

"i'm going to meet a friend in the uk in two days, so i'm not going to be here, can you watch potato?"

"no problem." he shuts the door and i go back to my room and i lay down on my bed.

wait, she's never seen my face, what if she thinks i'm ugly, what if she i'm not her type? WHAT WHAT IF SHES NOT GAY??

i look up 'is niki nihachu gay?'

oh good. niki is bi.

time skip 2 days.

i rush around and do my hair and makeup.
i run out the door and me and schlatt get into the car and he drives to the airport.

i fiddle with my rings and bounce my leg up and down.

"hey dahlia?" schlatts stupid voice pulls me out of my trance.

"what's up?" i ask.

"are you ok? you look kinda nervous."

"i'm ok, i swear."

"ok, just making sure your ok." he keeps his eyes on the wheel.
I know Schlatt cares, especially because of what happened a few years ago.
he's been protective of me ever since, and honestly it makes me feel good,
i've never really felt that sense of security with people,
not even schlatt.
i feel secure when i'm around him, sure, but not really a loving secure.
i know he will fight people for me, but i want to feel loved.
"-lia. dahlia are you listening?"

"um yeah?"

"so did you?"

"."

"i'll repeat," he replies, pulling into the entrance of the airport. "have you eaten today?"

"uh, no."

"make sure to eat something when you land ok?"

"ok mama schlatt."

"you're so dumb." he laughed and ruffled my hair.

we walk out of the car and make our way to the airport.

"i'll miss you kid." he hugs me.

"i'll miss you too." i hug him back.

"have fun with your girlfriend!" schlatt waves as i make my way to the boarding place.
