Verdict

Dani POV

Today was the day, it's been 3 weeks of hell for Chris, back and forth and twists and turns but now at this moment we find out if it was all worth it. I'm sat behind Chris is the court room, Lisa beside me and Scott and the rest of the family beside her. We are all so nervous, both Josh, Cameron and her father are charged with fraud, blackmailing and threatening behaviour, and today we find out if they will be sentenced or not.
"How does the jury find the defendants?"
The leading woman stands and clears her throat "we the jury find the defendants.........." It feels like forever for her to answer, time slows right down. I see Chris's head drop and I know he is feeling just as anxious and nervous as us.

"Guilty" we all shout out in celebration, Chris turns and hugs his mother and family before looking at me and taking my hand. He squeezes it tight and I smile as the tears fall from my eyes.
The judge passes the sentences and then they are taken away, I see Cameron look at me as she is taken away and she doesn't look happy. I can't help but smile a little, she got what she deserved all of them did. As we walk out of court, there are paparazzi everywhere of course, so we don't wait around. We rush off back to Chris's house and back to him having a normal life.

As we walk inside I see Lisa and everyone head towards Chris, hugging him and crying. I decide to let them be and walk back out the front door, grabbing my car and driving home. He needs this time with his family and I'm happy to give that to him. As I get home, I slouch down on the sofa and sigh, I'm so happy he won. He can finally move forward.

Chris POV

I look around and notice Dani isn't anywhere to be found, she must have slipped out when everyone was hugging me. I can't believe I won and it's all thanks to her.
"Dani must have gone home so I'm going to go see her okay"
"Okay sweetheart" my ma kisses my cheek and smirks at me. I give her a confused look before heading out and driving over to Dani's house. As I pull up, I walk over to the door and lightly knock. I hear shuffling from the other side and she opens the door.
"Hey, what you doing here?"
"You left without saying goodbye"

"I'm sorry, I thought you'd want sometime with you family" she says as she moves to the side to allow me to enter the house.
"When are you going to understand Dani, your apart of our family"
She chuckles and walks into the kitchen "do you want a drink?"
"Please"
She turns around and holds out a bottle of whiskey and 2 glasses.
"I think we could use a drink"
I nod "most definitely"

She pours the drinks out and holds hers up to propose a toast "congratulations Chris, you did it"
I shake my head "we did. You did it, if it wasn't for you and your friend I wouldn't have......I would still be stuck Dani so thank you"
She smiles "your welcome"
We clink our glasses and we down it in one, she places her glass on the side and looks down.
"You okay?" I ask and she nods before looking up at me.
"Yeah. So know your free what's your plans?"
"I don't know."

"Well you're back on the market so.....go have fun"
I look at her confused, she sounds sad and I'm not sure why.
"Dani..." she looks up at me and I see tears in her eyes. I walk towards her and gently cup her cheek.
"What's wrong?"
She shakes her head "nothing I'm just happy for you"
"Dani......"
"Chris......"
I lean down slowly and place my lips on hers, in a slow and gentle kiss.

I can tell she is taken back by the kiss so as I pull away, I lean my forehead on hers "I love you Dani, you know that. But if you don't feel that way  then I need you to stop me.....I'm going to kiss you again.....and this time I don't want to stop but if you want me to then stop me"
I lean in again and kiss her, I feel her hand on my chest and I feel my heart break as I wait for the push to get me away from her lips.
