You could barely hear the cracking of branches and the crunching of leaves as the tall creature walked through the forest, a simple bag in hand as they picked up anything shiny.
The birds flew away quickly at the creature banging against the branches of trees, the creature barely let out a sound at hitting a tree as it continued its search. The creature stopped, opening its mouth as it breathed, sharp teeth shining as the sun reflected on them. The floating head of the creature spun, as its fur was slightly winded back as a strong gust of wind came by.
And as the creature closed its mouth there it heard the shallow and shaky breaths of something else. Something alive.Originally, the creature wouldn't care, if it weren't for the fact the sounds didn't sound like they were coming from any creatures you'd usually see in the forest. So the creature chased after the sound in curiosity, what it didn't expect was a child trying to curl into itself like a ouroboros eating its own tail.
And that's how we landed here, the creature with the smaller more fragile in hand and a panicking person walking back and worth in the room.
"You can't just- take a child!?! What if it's parents are looking for it??" They ran their hand through their hair as they looked at the fragile kid, shaking in the hand of the creature, looking down at the smaller being the creature titled its floating head."But it was alone? And it looks as though it hasn't been taken care of for days" the creature, vinnie, exclaimed now putting the child down onto the table, it's hands bigger then the whole kid alone, the child sat on the table in fear, still curling into itself.
The person turned to the kid on the table and sighed, as it brought a hand up to its face and rubbed its eyes.
"Vinnie..the kid could've simply played too much in the forest.." They looked back up at vinnie, who was simply staring at them. As if waiting for an action from the other. And so the person , fern , sighed.
"I'll go run a bath for the kid." They simply said as they walked out of the living room and walked up the stairs as they creaked underneath them, vinnie looked down at the kid and watched as it tried climbing off the table, immediately falling harshly onto its face with a thud. Vinnie picked the kid up by the hem of its, fairly too big, shirt. The kid, who already looked rough, was now bleeding from the nose, vinnie was expecting to hear screeching or sobbing, but when all it got was a sniff. It held the child more appropriately, holding it fully with its hand, and walked up the stairs with the kid, so it could meet fern with the bath.
