"Honey, over here." Samantha calls on her husband and gives him a bottle of water.
Both of them sat to rest for a bit while the workers continued excavating the cave.
"Thanks, Hon", Jared replied while wiping off his sweat with a handkerchief.
"It's been a while since we started this,right?",he added.
"Indeed, honey. We've been on this for almost 2 years now.", Samantha replied.
"And we still got nothing"she added, along with a sigh.
"Are you really sure that something is down there?" she asked.
Jared faced his wife, puts down his bottle on a rock next to them and held both her wife's hand.
"Honey, I am certain. There is something in there. Every time I close my eyes when I sleep, it calls me. I don't know what it is but I'm sure that there is something in there that wants to be discovered. I am not just the one wanting it to be unearthed, it also wants itself to be revealed. Day by day, I feel that we are almost close to it." he said sincerely.
His wife then puts her hand above his husband's hands.
"You've said that many times already, Hon. Not just once or twice, many times already that I've lost track of how many times it is. How can you be sure of something that you only hear in your dreams, how?", she worriedly said.
It was at this moment that Jared realized that the passion of being an archeologist is fading away from his wife.
"Do you really wanna give up on this after such a very long time? I am not even talking to you and telling you all of this based on my feelings, gut, and my dreams, even the magnetometer says so. Can't you see how the magnetic force is being dragged in this location? This isn't just something, I am confident in this, so please, believe in me." Jared replied.
His wife held his hand firmly, took a deep breath,
nodded, and hugged him.
Jared suspected that something was going on that caused his wife to suddenly act and talk like this.
Suddenly, an earthquake happened and everyone inside the cave panicked. All of them ran as quickly as possible to get out of the place.
While they ran, rocks from the top of the cave collapsed and some of it fell on both Jared and his wife and they both lost consciousness.
"COME TO ME, OFFER TO ME, SEE THROUGH ME!", these words whispered repeatedly in Jared's mind while he is unconscious and later on, he woke up due to a blinding light not way too far from him glowing like the sun.
He struggled lifting up the fallen debris in his lower body but managed to successfully lift it with all his strength as he saw his unconscious wife beside him that also needed his help.
He couldn't stand easily as his left leg was the one affected by most of the heavy debris that had fallen.
"Honey!, Honey!, Wake up!" he worriedly said and checked for her wife's pulse.
He felt that his wife still has a very weak pulse so again, with all the remaining strength he has, he lifted the rocks and debris that is on his wife.
He started giving her CPR to revive her.
Gladly, Samantha woke up again from her unconscious state and was chasing for her breath. She was very weak as most of her body was hit by the fallen rocks.
Her stomach and left thigh was bleeding so bad because of the pointy rocks that fell on her.
"Ja...red, I...can't...move...my...legs" she said softly while in pain.
