Mine || Hoonki

A/N: This is almost like a sequel to (Take a chance on me) so if you didn't read it I suggest you do to understand this story more clearly.

The nights seemed more darker then usual Niki thought as he stared out of his window looking at the stars.Even the moon and stars didn't light up the sky anymore. A tear escaped as it rolled down his cheek.The same words kept ringing in his ears.

"How could you even think of me and you ever getting together Niki"

He closed his eyes tightly as that same wave of sadness washed over him.He layed back on his bed as he curled up into a ball and hugged his pillow.

As usual Niki would go to school but school seemed more boring then ever. Maybe because he would've spend his day thinking about him but now thinking about him only brought tears. He tried hard not to think about him but it was way more harder then he thought.

He was still deep in thought when someone placed some strawberry milk on his desk. He looked up and saw Sunghoon he has the most brightest smile ever. He soon left when one of his friends called for him but not before waving at Niki.

He was confused usually Sunghoon would only greet him when he ran into him but today he personally came to him.Picking up the milk he found a small sticky note on the back.

If some people don't like you, it's fine. What really matters is someone still likes you.

Niki felt another tear escape as he quickly wiped it away. He smiled as he looked at the milk.

Unlike the other days Niki actually felt a little better as he kept on thinking about the small note he got.

Jungwon also noticed as he was sitting with Niki while they were eating usually they had to force Niki to at least eat a little bit since the rejection. But today he drank some strawberry milk but what really caught Jungwon's eye was the small smile he had.

"Hmm not even gonna ask" jungwon spoke as he gave his lunch box to Niki. He took without protesting against it like other days. Jungwon really didn't know what was going on but he didn't question it .

After school Niki went straight to his room as he took out a box from under his bed. He was scared to open it because it held so many memories.

After finally mustering up all the courage he could he finally opened the box. The pictures of him and Heeseung were in it. From when they were small till date. He sighed as he decided it was best if he would let go of all these memories.

He was about to dump the contents in the trash when he stopped. He thought he was ready but the truth is he wasn't ready to let go. He held the box closer to him. He then closed it as he placed it under his bed again.

He then took the note that he got today as he read it again. He then sticked it onto his wall.

Night came and the house was quiet. His mother was probably next door. He couldn't sleep like always and to be honest his tired of crying himself to sleep so instead he decided to go take a walk.

Reaching the nearby park there were still some people walking even joking it was nice and it wasn't that cold at all just a little warm wind was blowing.

Niki slowly walked to a bench as he sat on it looking up to the sky like he does every night. But unlike the other night he weren't crying it felt amazing.

"Oh wow so you also like late night walks?"

The person sat next to him as he looked to his side to be met with Sunghoon. He had his usual bright smile. Niki nodded answering his question.

"Only when I want to clear my mind " Niki spoke softly. Sunghoon nodded understanding Niki's statement to well.

"Same " he said looking down. He then reached into his pocket as he fished out some sweets. He then offered it to Niki. The boy accepted it without hesitation.

Niki looked at it and it was also strawberry flavored. He chuckled a bit remembering the milk he got today that was also strawberry flavored.

"You really love strawberry" he looked at Sunghoon. The older boy laughed a bit before nodding.

"I use to hate it to be honest but somehow I started liking it" he looked at Niki. The younger looked ahead finding Sunghoon cute. His smile made him look like a cute puppy in Niki's eyes. He mentally slapped himself for thinking that.

"Hey uhm I'm sorry that you had to face a rejection like that" Sunghoon said in a low tone looking away from Niki. The younger was confused but then the note popped into his head so that's what Sunghoon meant.

"I actually overheard Jungwon and Yechan talking in the bathroom I tried minding my business but then your name was mentioned and I... I'm sorry I should have known it wasn't...." Sunghoon started rambling as Niki stopped him.

"It's okay really next time just walk away" Niki's voice tone changed like he was about to cry. Now Sunghoon felt bad for bringing up that topic. Niki stood up to leave as Sunghoon followed him. The older offered to walk him home but Niki refused as Sunghoon just nodded.

That night Niki once again layed in his bed with tears. He thought this night was gonna be different but he was wrong.
