I look over to Justine, panic in my eyes. I don't know if she notices. "Justine," I say getting her attention, "Can I have a word with you?" Justine shurgs, the two of us step into the hallway. I take a deep breath then yell, "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! JUST MAKING PLANS TO SPEND 20 OR SO MINUTES IN TWO STRANGE GUYS' APARMENT?" Justine laughs at my anger, I shoot her a glare. She laughs harder, okay, now I'm really angry.
"Dude, chill," Justine says, putting both of her hands on my shoulders, "I'm sorry, I just thought you'd rather wait in an apartment then down in a freakin' lobby!" I sigh, and lean against a wall. So far this "adventure" has not lived up to my expectations.
"Justine," I say, she looks down at me, "I'm sorry, it's just. I'm really tired, and my brains all confused because it's 1:30 but it's like 7 or 8:30 in America, " I say checking my phone, "And, I'm still angry because we won't get our furniture for a few days now, and I don't want to sleep on the floor. Plus, I'm extremely shy and scared of talking to those guys."
"How are you afraid of talking to Dan and Phil?" Justine asks, "They seem nice, and really funny."
"Justine, do you know who Dan and Phil are?" I ask.
"What do you mean do I know who they are?" Justine says, "Of course I do! They're Dan and Phil are neighbors." I roll my eyes.
"Do you know what they're known for?" I ask, Justine shakes her head no. "They're Amazingphil and danisnotonfire. From youtube." Justine's eyes widend.
"OH. MY. GOD." Justine gasps, "I've never heard of them." I sigh and bang the back of my head lightly against the wall. How the hell has Justine not heard of Amazingphil and danisnotonfire?! I sigh.
"Whatever," I say, "I have heard of them. I love their videos, and I look up to them. I'm very scared and slightly itimidated." Justine takes a seat beside me, she gives me a warm smile and pats my shoulder.
"It's okay," she says, "It'll turn out okay, I promise. You can't live your whole life being afraid of what could happen and then missing out on what actually does happen. You understand?" I sigh and nod. "Good," Justine says, "Now, let's go back into the apartment." We both stand up, Justine opens the apartment door and we walk in.
"Are you two okay?" Phil asks.
"Yeah, we heard you two screaming at each other," Dan says. Justien smiles and laughs a small laugh. It's pretty obvious that she has a small crush on Dan. I can't help but grin at this thought, I fold my arms across my chest. We spend the next 25 minutes in Dan and Phil's "flat." I actually ended up enjoying myself, even though I basically stayed as quiet as possible. I only spoke one or two times and they were addressed to Justine. No one pointed out my shyness. So, I assume they either didn't notice it, didn't care, or were just to lazy to point it out.
When the lock smith came he knocks on Dan and Phil's door, like Justine had asked him too. He then set to work on the lock. When he was done our key was out of the lock. He then was able to open the door. He said that we'd probably need a new key. Justine showed him hers, since we were given to apartment keys one for each of us. The locksmith left.
"Well, I guess this is goodbye," Dan says in an over dramatic voice.
"We do live right next door," Justine says, raising her eyebrows, "We can and will see you two again." Dan nods.
"We really should get inside and put our luggage away," I say motioning to the bags we dragged out of the boys' apartment. They nod, we say our goodbyes. I am surprised when Phil steps close to me. He is much taller than me and has the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen on anyone.
"Goodbye Layla," he says, smiling sweetly at me. I blush, he is way too close.
"Bye, Phil," I say and quickly turn around I run into the wall right beside the doorway. I bite my lip.
"Are you okay?" Phil asks, worriedly. Dan stiffles a laugh. I just ignore both of them and run straight into my apartment. So far, this has been one of the most embarrassing days of my life. All I want to do right now is cry for two hours and eat two cartons of ice cream. Justine opens the apartment door, she looks at me. I'm standing by the window, looking out. I would probably be able to enjoy the view more if I hadn't thrown up on a plane, screamed RAPE on a plane, tripped and fell as I exited the elevator, and ran into a wall. I swear I must be the most awkward, shy, embarrasement of a person this Earth has ever known.
