this was all too familiar.

the smell of alcohol permeated the air, the loud music was blaring. There sat Kim Seungmin, a second-year law student, meticulously dressed, s̶l̶i̶g̶h̶t̶l̶y out of the place, and was apparently dragged to this party by his best friend. Pretty cliché huh?

Ever since the start of college, Kim Seungmin had made a promise to himself, never spend Friday nights out. And he stuck to that principle diligently like the good boy he was. That is until he became friends with a senior and met his very unhinged friend group.

Speaking of the unhinged friend group,

"Hey, Seungminnie! Having fun!?"

Asked a very lively-looking boy, he was bursting with energy, and Seungmin winced at his loud voice.

"Sorry if it's offensive, Jisung. But this party's shit. " He replied, stirring his straw in his Coca-Cola and didn't glance not once at the squirrel-boy to know he had a shit-eating grin.

"Knew you'd say that. It's okay to let loose a little, Seungminnie. " He stated, draping his arm over the younger boy's shoulder and gave him a reassuring pat.

Now Seungmin was not dumb. He knew being laid back once wouldn't cost him a failing mark on his exam sheet. But the truth was, parties were never his thing. He never got the hype of spending Fridays nights drinking a shit ton of alcohol, hooking a random person you think has a nice ass or playing shitty games like truth or dare and seven minutes of heaven (if he remembered the name right)

Like, what are you even celebrating? Being broke?

Don't get him wrong. He's okay with the occasional hangouts with his unhinged friend group, or the study sessions or the quick grab-a-coffee-break.

Seungmin's not socially awkward. He can talk to people if it means business. But for now, he's okay with the people he has around him. Even if they are chaotic, loud, and unhinged, he can't deny the fact they are some of the best people he's ever met.

And unlike most of them, Seungmin loves his personal space. And Jisung, the guy sitting beside him, loves his personal space. He had to let out a quiet grunt and shove off his arms to let him know he didn't wanna be touched. Jisung jutted his bottom lip out in disappointment but backed away.

"I'll... I feel a bit suffocated... can I go out to the balcony?" Seungmin wasn't lying when he said that. He felt a small headache kicking in and wanted to get out as soon as possible.

"Sure, Min. You need me to come with you?"

Seungmin shook his head. "Nah, I'll be fine. " and with that, he left.

The air was chilly outside. Of course, it was early December, who was he kidding? But his clothes were certainly not helping. He didn't wear something too fancy, just a silk black shirt and a pair of jeans. Of course, he wouldn't wear a woollen jacket and come to the party looking like a psycho. Neither did he predict he was gonna stand on the balcony looking like an absolute loner. Not that he minds it.

His headache seemed to be getting worse, he felt the need to jump off the Fifteenth-floor balcony he was standing on and end it for real but then he remembered he had an exam next week which he had studied so hard for. Don't wanna let all that potential go to waste.

"Yah! Kim Seungmin! Why are you standing there looking like a loser!?"

Here comes his biggest headache...

Seungmin rolled his eyes, turning around to meet the older who still had an unfinished drink between his fingers, eyeing him suspiciously.

"I like being a loner. Thank you very much for your concern. " He retorted sarcastically and turned around to face the railings again, leaning on them a bit.
