Jungkook stood outside taehyung's door, he had just rung the bell and was waiting for the door to open any minute.
Yesterday had been awkward between the duo, reason because they had both made only small talks, taehyung had only stayed back simply because Mrs Jeon was home and was making dinner, he knew the lady would be quite upset if he had left so he decided to suck it up and stay over to eat..
When jungkook returned to the living room after he took his shower and had on a comfortable wear that he could sleep on, he sat opposite taehyung like he did earlier and taehyung refused to make eye contact as he fumbled with his phone...
"Do you want to do my homework?" jungkook had asked, obviously to lighten the atmosphere, he knew what he blurted about them being grown ups and not having to go anywhere together everytime took a toll on taehyung, but the latter was trying to be calm about it which was unlike taehyung, he would always voice out whatever he was thinking... But these days he seemed closed off..
"Only math" taehyung said looking up at kookie..
"And English" jungkook bargained...
"I can't, I don't have time.. I'll go home soon" taehyung said adjusting in his seat, the aroma of what Mrs Jeon was making, filled his nostrils..
"You could sleepover, its been long we had that" jungkook said clearing his throat... He just now realized the situation with taehyung was much more than he thought, the duo was inseparable but now they had gone weeks without sleeping over... WeirdTaehyung however shook his head muttering a maybe next time... Jungkook oh-ed and okay-ed...just then his phone dinged and he started typing away,
With Taehyung aware of his shy smile and how his cheeks flushed.Taehyung had dinner with his friend and mother, him just stuffing his mouth with food because clearly there was nothing to say, jungkook was still engrossed in his phone while eating...
However Mrs Jeon had scolded jungkook to drop his phone which the latter did but not without whining..
Maybe Mrs Jeon noticed the way taehyung glances at kookie while he was busy with his phone, maybe she noticed how taehyung scrunched his face whenever jungkook giggled.. Maybe she noticed how taehyung wasn't really interested in the small talks she was making with him, the boy only nodded and seemed lost staring at his friend who sat opposite him, taehyung always listened to Mrs Jeon, no matter what she blabbed about, but now it just seemed all that mattered to him was how jungkook could straight up ignore him like he wasn't sitting right across him...
After dinner, taehyung left for his house... Jungkook did escort him, well his mom had to snatch his phone and asked him to escort his friend...
"You didn't help me with the homework" jungkook started as he felt the silence between him and his friend was really too loud.. They were nearing taehyung's place now..
"Yeah, bring it over tomorrow..." taehyung said kicking a little rock but he missed, jungkook snorted a little at that..
"You honestly can't do anything right" he mocked..
"Right back at you" taehyung replied..
They both stopped as they had reached taehyung's front door...
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow" jungkook said, taehyung nodded heading for the porch..
"Goodnight" jungkook said, staring at taehyung's back, taehyung turned to look at him..
"Goodnight Koo" he said in a soft tone..Jungkook however almost got jelly legs, taehyung never called him Koo, was it another nickname?.. Something about the way taehyung said it, kind of caught him off guard..
Right under the crescent moon, jungkook saw a different taehyung, it was the way he was looking at him, the way his eyes stared back right at his... Like it was trying to tell him something... The way the moon adorned his face.. And the small pout taehyung had, has taehyung always been so soft?
