*******************************On her way to the house from school, she kept thinking about what her bully had said: "Go kill yourself."
What would my death bring to them? Pleasure? Should I? I have nothing to live for anyway. Maybe I can join her in the afterlife? No, NO! She died for you to live. Her death would be in vain if you followed the words of a mere bully.
With the negative thoughts out of her head she walked home with a hand over her heart holding her most prized possession.
When she neared her house, she didn't see her father's car in the driveway. Knowing she had time before he arrived, she hurried inside kicking off her shoes, and throwing her bag on the couch. She ran upstairs to the attic. In there were a lot of things; extra chairs, boxes and toys. However, her interest was photo albums. Her father never allowed her to come up here. The last time she was able to hide a locket from her father, though he found out that she was here and was then hospitalized for a week. When she was at school, the next week, she locked herself in a bathroom stall and saw her mother for the first time. That's the first time she thought that a beating was worth it, if it meant she could stay with her locket. God knows what her father would do to her if he found out.
Lucia looked through her mother's first two albums before she heard heavy footsteps entering the house.
"LUCIA! COME DOWN HERE, YOU LITTLE PIG!"
She stayed silent knowing that if she spoke and he found out where she was, she would regret it.
That silence only made things worse, her father had taken it as a sign of disobedience.
Loud footsteps and harsh breathing were heard going up the stairs. It made Lucia's skin crawl and brought tears to her eyes. She let out a scream when she saw her angry father's face pop up from the attic doors.
"WHY ARE YOU HERE! I TOLD YOU TO NEVER COME UP HERE!" He screamed at her whilst dragging her by her hair towards the door.
As she turned around to face him, her head whipped to the side. He never was this angry, the veins on his neck looked like the roots of a tree. Sudden pain to her ribs caused her to let out a whimper, snapping her out of her thoughts. Another and another, the hits landed everywhere; her legs, arms, torso and head. The only thing she could remember was getting a large blow to the head before black spots clouded her vision.
This is how I die. How ironic. The person meant to protect me, ends up killing me in the end.
Then everything went black.

Jenny never thought that she would be worried for Lucia, but for Lucia to be missing for two weeks must have meant someone had died. Jenny never saw Lucia miss a minute of class. She would want to ask someone; however, Lucia had no friends and the teachers seemed unaware of her absence. She couldn't blame them because Lucia was basically mute and always had her hood up in the back corner of the classroom.
"She's here," whispered a student.
"Where has she been? Does she know how angry he is?"
Jenny turned around to see what they were talking about, only to see Lucia looking pale and walking with a limp. Are they blind? Can't they see there's something going on? Idiots. In the corner of her eye, she could see him grinning.
She sighed whole heading to class.
*******************************
Lucia always hated going to school on rainy days, she got all wet and must redo her makeup at school. As she exited the bathroom she could hear the whispers, asking what happened and how he would react.
