In the cold, sterile confines of the office building, I found myself confined to a chair, my attempts to break free from the restraints met with only futile resistance. The hum of countless computers surrounded me, their screens casting an eerie glow across the room. Dread coiled in the pit of my stomach, a sickening feeling that intensified with every futile thrash against my constraints. This was not a fate I had chosen, nor did I want to be a mere guinea pig in their relentless experiments.
A wave of panic surged through me as I grappled with the reality of the situation. The relentless buzz of technology pressed in on all sides, a disorienting symphony of electronic noise. My mind raced, desperately searching for an escape from this unwanted ordeal. I couldn't allow myself to become another nameless subject, lost in the labyrinth of their experiments.
As I struggled, a presence loomed behind me, his hand resting on my shoulder, a chilling reassurance that did little to quell my rising fear. His whispered words, though meant to pacify, only served to intensify the knot in my stomach. "L/n, don't be afraid. We choose all our test subjects accordingly," he murmured, his breath sending shivers down my spine.
Reluctantly, I felt the cool touch of the headset being lowered onto my head. With clenched eyes, I resisted the inevitable plunge into the unknown. I couldn't afford to succumb to the same fate as those who came before me. The darkness behind my closed lids couldn't hide the turmoil within – a silent protest against the intrusion into my very consciousness. The journey into the digital circus awaited, and I could only hope to navigate its mysteries without losing myself in the process.
