Chapter 9

Mister chuckles again and asks, "Did you really think you'd make it out of here?" I nod my head, "I don't think, I know. There is no way I'm going to perish in here, and it's not my time to die. Bring Mr. Oakland back, he has nothing to do with it." I hear Mister chuckle again, "I'm glad to know you have a weakness. You love too easily." He brings Mr. Oakland back out and he has him on his knees. He points the gun to his head now, I know that this is his weak arm. He has the other one free in case I try to run or attack. I take my chances, I hit his weak arm and the gun drops. Stacy runs over and goes to kick me, but I duck, so she ends up hitting Mister. He rolls over and he's knocked out. She knew I would dodge that, "Stacy why did you do that," I ask. She smiles, "My original plan was to turn you over and have you killed. Then you told me that you were going to save me. I have been mean to you your entire life. I can't be free of this, but you can. Right now, since we are under lock down, there is a weak point just North of here." I nod, run up and hug her, then I run for the weak point. On my way there I stop, I can't leave her. I go to run back, but they've already subdued her. She looks back and mouths a quick, "run," before being dragged away. I feel horrible, I was supposed to save them, but I didn't. I head out through the exit point and re-evaluate my plan. Can I really do this? Like, I've already failed to complete two things that I've wanted to do. Who;s to say that I won't continue to fail? I have the skill set, but I don't know if I'm emotionally ready. It doesn't matter. I have to find the truth about my parents. The defamation of their names will not continue to happen. Everyone needs to know what heroes my parents really are. I won't let their name continue to be slandered. I will not succumb to the organization and allow them to use me. I will be my own person and I will find others who agree with the idea of freedom. Then we can be free together, always recruiting members. Always allowing a choice. Always being there for each other. Not benefiting one another for selfish reasons and purposes. Always.
