Weeks passed by and Anna and Grace became closer with each passing day. Between church and running into each other in town, you'd think it was meant to be. After about a month, Anna and Grace were waking up to each other;

Grace: Good-Morning, Anna. How did you sleep, you perfect girl?"
Anna: Awe! Gracie Ur 2 Sweet 🍭 I Slept Well; Thx 4 Ask'n. How'd You Sleep, You Kind Angel?
Grace: Awe! Thanks. I'm slept really well. I had a really good dream!
Anna: Hey, Wanna G2 The Mall W/Me? I Leave In 20.
Grace: Of course! Want to take my truck?
Anna: Sure! I'll See Ya In 20.
Grace: See you then. :)

Grace jumped out of bed and ran to her closet. Since she had showered the night before, she didn't bother doing it again. She threw nearly everything out of her closet and searched frantically for her favorite shirt. She dragged a black shirt with sleeves that went just below the elbows out of her closet and smiled at it and the simplicity of it. She then grabbed a pair of dark capris and changed. She brushed her hair and threw it up before running down to breakfast.

Anna set down her phone and smiled. She slowly got up and grabbed a white tee and a small black skirt from her closet before changing. She threw her hair up high and danced around as she put on make-up. After about fifteen minutes, she ran downstairs, scarfed down some toast before hearing her phone go off; it was Gracie. She was outside and the truck was ready to go.
"Bye, Mom."

"So, what are we doing today?" Grace asked as they began the drive into the city.
"I was thinking we would browse the mall and eat at Katz for lunch. And I am inviting you to spend the night, so then we'll go to that." Anna answered hopeful.
"That sounds great." Grace smiled as she stared over at Anna who was absentmindedly twirling the loose strands of her hair. Grace smiled; no one had ever made her feel so happy before.

Throughout the day, Anna and Grace tried things on, browsed, and picked up random treats. While Grace lead Anna toward Claire's, Anna leaned the other way and pulled Grace into Spencer's. Though at first she was reluctant to enter such a dark looking store, Anna showed her the wall of jewelry. There were necklaces, bracelets, anklets, earrings, and a piercing booth. They bought two sets of chained rainbow necklaces and traded them out every once in awhile for a different color. Grace loved how the cool metal felt against her neck, along with the warmth of Anna's hand against her own.

When the girls got home, nobody else was there. Grace sat on Anna's porch and they talked about the excitement of the day. Grace's heart pounded the closer Anna inched. From her left hand Grace drew a simple yellow flower and held it to Anna. Anna took it and twirled it in between her fingers.

"I love you." Grace whispered.
"I love you, too." Anna confirmed.

The girls leaned closer and smiled down at the flower. They both giggled. Grace's heart beat rapidly and her hands became soaked with sweat. Anna took Grace's hands and they seemed to calm. The whole world stood still, and Grace took a leap of faith.

She leaned in and kissed Anna; their lips melting against one another. Her breath tasted of sweet peppermint and her skin was soft as rose petal. Grace held on for as long as she could, but soon she pulled away. The surprising thing was, the second Grace pulled away, Anna pulled her in, and kissed her back.

That night, they held each other close, knowing that if they were caught, it would mean the end of them. As the clock struck twelve, Anna turned to Grace and with her deep blue eyes glistening against the brightening moon, she asked,

"Are you sure that you love me?"
"Anna, I love you in a way that can never be describe well enough. Simply put, you keep me warm. Before you, I had to bundle up in the heat of the summer, but now, I could sleep bare in a blizzard and with you in my thoughts, it may as well be summer."

Anna kissed Grace one last time before leaning on her and drifting off to sleep.

I would say that they lived happily ever after, but I think you know that. The road may be long and difficult, but don't give up. It will get better; Promise. Everything has a way of making sense when you get to the end of the road.
