There are two parts to this chapter because both were too short for me to feel like they could pass as their own chapters but I couldn't figure out how to put them together.
Part 1
Quidditch Pitch
September 2nd, 1997
6:49 am | Tatum VaughnetonThe ground flew by beneath me. My eyes stayed on the golden snitch in front of me.
The wind blew my hair from my face until I turned slightly and it blew it straight into my eyes, briefly blocking my view.
I stopped short, ripping my hair tie off my wrist and throwing my hair in the messiest, slopiest ponytail ever made before flying forward again.
My fingers brushed against the snitch, barely grabbing on.
Something slammed into my broom, sending me hurdling forward.
My grip tightened as I slowly myself down, still going in fucking loops as I plummeted towards the ground, fear sparking in my chest.
I pulled upwards slightly and stopped the movement, staring dazed and nauseated at the field below me, just a few feet away.
"Sorry about that, Vaughneton!"
I looked up, Draco hovering a few feet from me, holding the snitch between his fingers with a smirk.
"You didn't have to slam into me that hard." I spat, flying the rest of the way to the ground.
He laughed harshly. "That's what she said."
If I'd not stopped to tie my hair back, I would have caught it.
I need to think.
He ran over to me as I dramatically threw my broom into the closet. "Hey, I didn't mean to make you that upset. I mean, you're better than me. Madam Hooch won't hesitate to make you team captain before me." He smiled slightly, trying to lighten the mood.
I moved past him. "It's fine. No a big fucking deal. Just practice. You just hurt my arm, you ass."
He gave me a weird look and followed. "I just have a small little itty bitty feeling that it's not me you're trying to convince."
We were silent for a moment as I walked into the locker room, disgustingly aware there wasn't an option to not be around so many sweaty teenage boys.
No girl's locker. Just boys.
He cleared his throat and pulled a fresh set of clothes from his locker across from mine. "Hey uh- I know we don't talk, but if somethings going on-"
"I'm fine, Draco," I muttered, grabbing my robes and school clothes before slamming the locker door so it would shut. Most of the lockers have to be practically bodyslammed to close.
Draco tossed me a towel. "I know- You just never get this upset about losing. I mean at games you do but never at practice. I'm just saying, if something is going on, I'm probably not doing anything so you're welcome to talk to me. Plus, it's a sport you play for fun so loosen up, dumbass."
I caught the towel in one hand and headed for the showers. "I appreciate the offer, but I'm fine."
Lorenzo grabbed my arm before I stepped inside, his hair was sticking to his forehead, his cheeks pink, breathing semi-regulated, quidditch jersey on. "Hey. You look pissed."
