"There are you happy," I thought aloud.
"I did what you asked," my voice rising. "Just give me a break already. Please quit torturing me," my voice was cracking at this point. Practically screaming I shouted, "Give up!" Then, "Help me please somebody help me," my voice, said in a frantic whisper.

Just then, my two older brothers came rushing in to my comfortably sized and cozy white room filled with light.

"Are you OK? We heard yelling!" my older brother, Silas, asked.

I just nodded my head, feeling drained and slightly dizzy, not wanting to say anything.

Then my oldest brother, Kenton, said, "Treasure, speak up and use your words. We need to know that you're OK."

I just rolled my eyes. My two older brothers are so annoying.

Kenton grabbed underneath my chin and pulled my face towards him. "Don't ever let me ever catch you rolling your eyes at me again. Now use your words. Essie, are you OK?"

"Yes, I'm fine!" I huff giving him a glare.

"No, you're not," Silas simply states.

I shoot him a glare too, "Just leave me alone."

Silas gives me a look as Kenton said, "Yeah, how about ummm, no. Plus now I know that you're definitely not OK."

"You two are so annoying!" I huff again.

This time Kenton gives me a look as Silas says, " Princess, lay down and go to sleep. We'll be back to check on you in a little bit." Then those two brats leave the room. Kenton leading and Silas followed quickly shutting the door with a click.

Finally, some peace and quiet.

As I shut the door to Essie's' room I hear her sigh before turning to Kenton. He gives me his one and only Kenton look as I follow him down the hall out of earshot of Essie. I sigh and state what he already knows, " That's the second time it's happened today and the ninth time this week, plus it's only Wednesday. What are we going to do?"

Hearing it only made it worse, Kenton starts yanking on his hair. Probably processing everything, really feeling how bad the situation is. "What can we do? I mean I'm only just 18, just old enough to act as guardian, but still not old enough. You're only 16, I'm sorry, but that doesn't help us at all." He began going over his thoughts.

"Hey, I'm almost 17." I said as I interrupted Kenton. He dismissed me with the wave of his hand. I mean I get it. Still not old enough to be able to help.

Then Kenton started his rant again, "Mom and Dad won't be back for another 2 weeks. Still in that amount of time Essie could really hurt herself...." Slowly I dawned on him, just as it dawned on me a week ago, he couldn't help Essie. " I can't help her... what the frick am I supposed to do?" In two steps I crossed the hallway and wrapped my arms around his torso. For a minute he stiffened then slowly he started to relax. I held him together as he slumped into me. I held on so tight because just as I had realized before and realized again that even the strongest need someone to hold them together sometimes. "We'll get through this together," I whispered into his ear. Then I just kept holding him. What a fun Situation.
