Jungkook groaned, his eyes fluttering open. A wave of dizziness washed over him as he tried to sit up. He was drenched in sweat, the sheets clinging to his bare skin. Taehyung must have taken off his hoodie during the night.
He swung his legs over the side of the bed, his mouth tasted like stale medicine. Slowly, he made his way to the bathroom, He grabbed his toothbrush, the bristles harsh against his tongue. After a thorough brushing and a quick trip to the toilet, he took a cold shower, washing away the remnants of the sticky sweats and leaving him feeling fresh.
He put on a pair of black shorts and a black printed t-shirt, then gathered the clothes he had worn the previous day, a crumpled mess in a corner of the room, and made his way to the basement. The musty smell of damp laundry greeted him as he tossed the clothes into the overflowing laundry basket.
He climbed back upstairs, eager to see Taehyung. He found him in the living room, hunched over a textbook, diligently reviewing his chemistry notes.
"You miss school?" Jungkook's voice startled Taehyung, who whipped his head up, a wide smile adorning his face."Maybe, maybe not," Taehyung replied, sarcastically.
Jungkook rolled his eyes playfully and flopped down beside Taehyung on the couch. He snatched the textbook from Taehyung's grasp, his eyes scanning the page. "Oh my god," he exclaimed, his voice laced with mock horror. "Even looking at this burns my eyes." He shoved the book back into Taehyung's chest with a dramatic scoff.
"You just have a low IQ," Taehyung teased, smirking.
Jungkook stuck his tongue out at him, unable to suppress a laugh. "How are you feeling?" Taehyung asked, concern softening his features.
"Good," Jungkook replied, his stomach rumbling loudly. "And hungry."Taehyung chuckled, closing his book with a snap. "Good thing I know how to cook," he chirped, rising to his feet.
Jungkook followed him like a lost puppy, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Did you shower?" Taehyung asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Jungkook retorted, playfully.
"Did you brush your teeth?" Taehyung pressed, his gaze lingering on Jungkook's lips.
Jungkook scoffed, a playful smirk playing on his lips. "Come kiss me, and you'll find out."
Taehyung's breath hitched. Heat rushed to his cheeks, his face burning under Jungkook's amused gaze. He was speechless, the words caught in his throat.
"What? Cat got your tongue?" Jungkook teased, his laughter ringing through the room.
"Shut up," Taehyung mumbled, his voice barely a whisper, his heart pounding against his ribs.
They both settled down in the dining room, the aroma of stir-fried scrambled eggs and bread toast filling the air.
Taehyung abruptly stood up, his chair scraping against the floor.
"Where are you going?" Jungkook asked, his mouth full of food.
"I'm coming," Taehyung voiced. He hurried upstairs, his footsteps echoing through the house. He returned a moment later, a small bottle of medicine clutched in his hand.
Jungkook's face crumpled at the sight of the bottle. "Taehyung!!" he whined, his voice laced with protest. "I'm not taking that."
"You have to," Taehyung reasoned, his voice firm yet gentle. "The doctor's instructions were clear – finish the entire dosage."
"But I'm fine now," Jungkook argued, his pout growing more pronounced.
"You might run a temperature later," Taehyung countered, his gaze unwavering. "You have to take it, Kookie," he insisted, his voice softening.
