(This is not a letter but reflection)
When does a monster become a monster? When you love it. In this tumultuous world, love can become a catalyst for monstrosity, transforming souls into frightening beings.
But what is a monster? Is it a scorned entity rejected by society? Or could it be ourselves, under the mask of apparent normalcy? There are dark shadows in our hearts, and love, despite its apparent healing power, can bring forth these inner demons.
Love and monstrosity can merge in a macabre dance, where good and evil lose themselves in a dark ambiguity. When we love a monster, we confront the duality of human existence. We try to see the beauty beyond the frightening appearances, to find light in the depths of darkness. Yet, this journey into loving a monster proves to be a territory of ambiguity and suffering.
Love urges us to overlook atrocities and justify monstrosity. We deceive ourselves, hoping to change a corrupted being, to bring salvation through love. But often, this act of love reveals only the dark abyss hidden in the human heart.
Love for a monster can be a betrayal of oneself, a descent into the abyss of our own weaknesses and darkness. We get lost in a spiral of emotional dependence, where suffering and despair become currency in the toxic relationship. Love, which should be a force that unites and enriches, transforms into a form of self-destruction.
And yet, in this dark balance between love and monstrosity, there is a profound understanding of human nature. The monster can be a mirror in which we see our own abysses. Through love for it, we confront our own shadows and the dark side of our soul. We understand that we are, essentially, fragile and contradictory creatures, capable of so much beauty and so much darkness.
So, when does a monster become a monster? It might be the moment you love it and confront your own abyss. Or it could be the moment you realize that the monster is none other than yourself. In this plunge into darkness, we seek meaning, we seek a ray of hope, hoping that, in the end, we will find a balance between love and monstrosity.
