Just like an Altar in the western weddings, mandap is an essential part of Indian weddings. Adorned with ornate lights, flowers, beautiful fabrics, the mandap set up for Rudraksh Agnihotri and Yuvika Jaisingh's wedding, looked ethereal. The contemporary themed mandap with white, dark green and gold colours, looked flashy and bright with all the ornate lights under the night sky.

In the middle of the mandap, just under the huge flower made chandelier with string lights and mirrors, sat Rudraksh with Yuvika on her left on the couch. The priest sat adjacent to Rudraksh and the parents of Rudra sat behind him with Aditya adjacent to Yuvika on thick cushioned low height stools. Spritzing some holy water on the bride, groom and their parents, the priest started the wedding rituals, with the invocation of Lord Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles.

Everyone had their smartphones and cameras out in their hands and were eager and very cautious to not miss a moment of one of the most awaited weddings of India. Raeesha and Meera had taken up the responsibility to capture as many candid pictures of the beautiful moments of the union and they were doing it quite gleefully. The different traditions of the wedding involving different family members of both the bride and the groom, definitely fascinated the guests, especially the ones who came from abroad. Grandeur, glamour, luxury and everything was there.

With fireworks going off every few minutes and drummers spicing up the atmosphere, the wedding looked surreal. Rudraksh and Yuvika were given a mauli (string) each which was purified with holy water and was worshipped under the deities. They tied the cord around each other's wrists, symbolising their commitment to perform the ceremony, their pledge to provide mutual protection and their prayers for good health.

Yuvika's eyes would turn teary occasionally during the wedding rituals took place because of the absence of her mother and Aditya also had those similar emotions. Anyone who could see them properly and were close to them, could tell that they were suffering for their loss once again, after so many years, tonight. Whilst the others thought that their burning tears must be because of the fire and smoke.

Rudraksh who could see the teary eyes of Yuvika, sighed softly and held her hand which was resting on her lap, fisted. Yuvika gasped quietly because of the sudden touch and snapped her neck in his direction. But Rudraksh's eyes were focused at his front and he softly caressed her fingers, unfolding those from the tight hold fist. He kept affectionately stroking her stiff fingers until they were relaxed and she looked much better than earlier.

"Thank you!" Yuvika mumbled, before turning to face Rudraksh, giving him a grateful smile.

Rudra nodded and intertwined their fingers, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze, proving his presence and support.
