Shadow's P. O. V.
Another month has passed since I came to Earth. I learned to control my need. Nobody can catch me off guard now. Like I promised myself, I didn't interact with Christopher any more. Nothing has changed. I'm still invisible. This is good. I have improved. I shot a lot of citizens. Love was all around me. I started listening to Earth music. It wasn't as sophisticated as angel music but I still liked it. I had a thing for 'pop' as they called it. I felt the lyrics more than anybody. Christopher didn't have out brakes of emotion any more and it felt nice to be in the same room with him and not collapse to the floor and throw up. Mirrana and Gabriel didn't visit me. I think they have established that I'm strong enough to do this on my own even though I thought I wasn't. There were rumours going around the school that Christopher is throwing a party and that everybody is invited. I wasn't going of course. Well I wasn't planning on going but Christopher stopped me after class and said I must come. I still wasn't going. He has no control over me. It was different when Mirrana came to me in person and said I must go. She said there will be people without love there and it's a great opportunity to get to know people and give them love. My mission wasn't that simple but at least I can have fun with it. Mirrana told me about Halloween. She said it's kind of like a masquerade. You dress up in a costume and dance. Simple enough. She told me that the easiest way for me is to be an angel for Halloween. I can open my wings and just find a cute dress. She said that people wear shorter dresses here which bothered me. I don't like short dresses. I agreed to go just because of my duty. I think Mirrana just wants me to have friends. But I couldn't connect to people here. They were so different. Beautiful and greedy, happy and sad, nice and horrible. They had so many mixed emotions. I didn't expect them to be like that. The party was on Saturday and today was Friday so I went to buy my dress. I looked for a long time until I found the perfect one. As I went to my flat I shot some people. Just to keep the need tamed and of course to give them love. When I got home I took a quick shower and went to bed. I woke up in a gloomy morning. That's how it is here in London. The party started at twenty hundred. I had lots of time to prepare. First I had breakfast and then I took a long bath. After that I did my make-up. This was the first time I used make-up since I came to Earth. I liked natural beauty more than tans and layers of make-up this people had. In the end my whole outfit with hair and make-up looked like this. I really liked the final result. I had about half an hour to get there. Mirrana also told me that it's no big deal to be late like in The Clouds. In The Clouds a ball was a really big thing. It was an offence, if you weren't dressed properly or, if you were late. Here they called it 'fashionably late'. I decided I'll show my wings before I go in the house. Christopher gave me his address when he told me I must come even though I mumbled I'm not going to. I think he wasn't use to people not obeying him, so he just ignored it. Or maybe he just didn't hear me. I decided to take the taxi. We stopped in front of a really luxurious flat building. I paid the driver and stood in front of the building. I was nervous to go in. I really didn't want to be here. I took a deep breath. I opened my wings and stepped inside.
