Wonwoo was extremely curious about the girl who was sitting in front of him as she barely looked up and joined the conversation that was happening at their table. Wonwoo at least answered the occasional questions that were thrown at him now and then. However, from the time the girl entered the private dining room, her head was down, not looking at him or the others around the table even once.
Wonwoo knew she was uncomfortable to be there. He also noticed how different she looked from the rest of her family. When he first laid his eyes on her he wondered if she was their assistant or something, because her sister and mother were donned in latest fashion, which honestly looked like an eyesore because of how excessive their tastes were whereas the girl was dressed simply in a loose grey turtleneck t-shirt dress and black leggings. When she was introduced that she was Inha, the girl he was to marry, Wonwoo heaved a sigh of relief that it was not the overly dressed sister.
So many thoughts were waging a war in his head as this was the first time he was put in a situation like this. As a child, Wonwoo always wondered about why adults marry. But as time went by, especially when he became an idol all those thoughts quietly dissipated away. However when Seungcheol went miles to make sure he married the love of his life, and after Junhui's sudden wedding in China, Wonwoo involuntarily started to wonder how his own wedding would be, how his wife would be...
He closed his eyes to stop the thoughts from consuming him and opened his eyes to find the answers to those rousing questions right in front of him. And that's when it hit him, that this was not a drill, the girl opposite to him was really going to be his wife.
Why is she so quiet? Is she being forced to marry me? He thought to himself as he looked at her.
Wonwoo was not someone who cared about looks. Yet, he found the simple looking girl to be beautiful in his eyes. He noticed all the little details about her. The way her eyes didn't meet his, the long auburn hair that flowed like beautiful waves, the way she barely touched her food, the way she flinched whenever her mother touched her arm, every single thing about her intrigued him more and more.
When his parents suddenly called on him and mentioned this marriage proposal, the only reason Wonwoo said yes was because he trusted them completely. He knew that they wouldn't put him in a bad situation and that whatever decision they take will have a meaning and purpose behind it. But after seeing Inha, Wonwoo wondered what that meaning and purpose was behind this sudden marriage proposal. He grew apprehensive but knew better than to jump at conclusions.
Wonwoo's mother was the one who suggested that Wonwoo take Inha out for a while, to get to know her better. She asked Inha very sweetly if she would like to go for a drive with her son. Inha raised her head in response and that's when Wonwoo's eyes met her sad looking ones which stirred something in him, a feeling he couldn't put his finger on.
He guided her towards their car which was tinted heavily to not gain any unwanted attention as he's a celebrity. He opened the door for her and asked her to sit. He sat down on the driver's seat awkwardly as the reality that he was in a close space with his future wife was hitting him finally. His heartbeat quickened at that and he placed his hands on the steering wheel to calm himself down.
