"Feraye."Feraye's hand doesn't shake as she presses the gun in her hand harder against Bora's forehead. The disgusting bastard just smiles faintly, as if he's amused. "Feraye, put down the gun- you're not going to shoot me."
"What the hell is going on here?"
She looks up and sees Vural Bakırcı standing in the doorway. He seems beyond angry as he glares daggers at her. He has a gun in his hand but he doesn't raise it, just holds it casually, as if to intimidate her. Feraye tries to find a semblance of fear but is pretty much numb.
"I'm going to kill your son," she tells him.
He takes his phone out of his pocket, presses a few buttons. "Have you left?- Good. Your wife is here. Come get her before she causes an accident."
She clicks the safety on the gun. "It won't be an accident, Vural Bey."
"Feraye-"
"Feraye?" Her hand slackens momentarily around the gun. That's Ateş. "Feraye!"
He walks past Vural, comes to stand in the middle of the room. He doesn't come any closer and when their eyes meet, it kills her when the only thing she sees is understanding.
Ten Hours Ago
"How is he?"
Ateş is startled by her voice, head slowly easing off the wall he'd been leaning it against. His eyes are filled with tears. She wants to ask him about what happened so badly, but she knows she can't right now. She just needs to focus on Yaman.
"Okay. It's just a flesh wound."
She sighs, leans against the opposite wall. Despite herself, Feraye finds herself watching him. His jaw is clenched, looking for all the world like a man with a lot of things he needs to say. She's pretty sure she knows what he wants to say, and at this point, she's also sure nothing he says can hurt her.
"Whatever it is you want to say to me, Ateş, just say it." She doesn't mean for it to sound so hostile, so impatient, but that's how it comes out.
He huffs out a laugh, shakes his head as he looks at her. He may be smiling, but there's a world of hurt behind his eyes. It makes her feel a little guilty. "I was going to say," he starts, standing up, "that you shouldn't be standing, given everything that happened."
She closes her eyes.
He comes to stand beside her, looks down at her. "I'm not your enemy, Feraye, so stop treating me like I am."
Then he walks away, before she has a chance to say anything else.

Ateş stands on the other end of the small corridor, back leaning against the wall and staring straight ahead, unmoving. He looks tired, like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders.Yaman did almost shoot him, she remembers, and feels guilty for the way she treated him earlier. Yaman almost shot him, and yet he'd protected him with his own body after the bullet hit his arm, he'd helped him into the car and driven them to the hospital, his hands shaking on the steering the whole time. And despite everything, he was still here, looking so tired, and so concerned. She has to wonder if this man is real at this point.
