PROLOGUE

Florence Peralta was in her last season of Formula One and was due to retire after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

She had always thought that she would be able to continue and go on forever but the cars were getting better and so were the drivers, so it meant that the seats were a lot harder to keep.

She had previously driven for Ferrari, but had lost her seat in the previous season, so she was now driving for a team known as Williams, a big difference to what she had known at Ferrari.

She highly doubted that her Williams car could win her a championship, but she was determined to try, wanting to be remembered as a successful Formula one driver, and not be one of many who people forgot about.

It felt strange, seeing rookies who were so successful some of which were in diapers when she started her career, so to end up racing alongside them, she did not know if she could cope with it.

It also didn't help that the friends of the best rookie took to her, treating her as if she was their family, not leaving them alone. It made her own friends laugh.

As she battled better drivers and better cars, Florence found herself seeing a different side to her former team mate from Ferrari, his competitive side having melted away to show that he was actually very supportive.

Who knew, maybe Charles Leclerc could persuade her to go for another season and to not be in a Williams for her last hurrah.
