I could not begin to describe how beautiful he was. He was standing at the shore, the soft waves barely touching his feet. The sun was shining creating shadows upon his face and making his skin glow. As I looked up at him, I couldn't help but smile.

If only it had ended like this. If only we had been standing here, hand in hand, watching the sun set. But that is not how fate wanted it.

This is the story of the boy who I fell completely and utterly in love with.

The first time I saw him he was walking along the shoreline, his head bowed as he curled his toes into the sand every so often. His hands were stuffed inside the pockets of his shorts as he walked further away from me. I hadn't seen him around here and normally I wouldn't pay attention to people, but there was something about him. He stopped and turned to look to the horizon. I watched him watch the sunset for eleven minutes, precisely. Then he turned and left, his head still bowed and his hands still in his pockets.

I was nineteen at the time and I lived in a little treehouse on the cliff above the beach. I moved away from home at eighteen. I simply hated living in New York; so hectic and stressful. So I moved; to where exactly, I do not remember. I only know, that it was in a peaceful forest not more than two hundred meters away from the shore.

I didn't see him for another three days and somehow his absence made me wonder about him even more.

On the fourth day he was there again. Standing on the shore, looking to the horizon. I considered doing something spontaneous, but why? I enjoyed being alone. I enjoyed the seclusion I had brought upon myself, why was I suddenly feeling like being spontaneous? I struggled with my thoughts trying to agree with myself on what to do.

I hoped it wasn't too late. I hoped he was still there looking at the horizon. I slipped into my converse and hurried down the patch to the beach. He was there. He sensed my presence and turned to me. I couldn't see his face from where I stood, but I did see him waving at me. I slowly raised my hand and waved back. I always hated interacting with people; I'd always found it difficult being in situations with other human beings; always having to adapt to different personalities and always having to prepare yourself since most people nowadays are so unpredictable.
I saw him making his way towards me and I immediately regretted going down to the beach. He was getting closer and suddenly he was standing in front of me. I looked at him, not tearing my eyes off him for one minute. His hair was longer than I had thought and it was pushed back on top of his head. He was wearing a lumberjack shirt and denim shorts. The first three buttons of his shirt was open, revealing some of his chest. I could skim a few tattoos, but I wouldn't look too much. Maybe he would think I was weird.
"Hi,"
His voice was low but somehow light and soft and I already didn't know what to answer. I went with the easy solution:
"Hi,"
"I'm Harry," he said as he extended his hand for me to shake. I took it hesitantly and he smiled. A beautiful one too. His teeth were placed perfectly in his mouth and they were all as white as teeth could possibly be.
He had dimples too and when he smiled his mouth would curve a bit to his right.
"I'm Valeria. I live up there," I said as I pointed up towards my little treehouse.
I had no idea where it came from, keeping a conversation going that is. He looked up, following the direction of my finger and that's when I noticed the color of his eyes. Green as newly grown grass.
"It looks nice up there,"
"It is nice up there,"
He smiled.
"Guess I'll see you around,"

That was our first conversation.
