This time, Thane wasn't going in unprepared. He did his research and discovered what Loomians Akio would be using. It was a three-on-three battle, with Akio employing a Geksplode, Lantot, and Revenine. Thane looked down at the sheet of paper in his hand, and then at his Loomians. They all stood in a row in front of him as Thane made his choices for who was to face Akio. He turned to the paper, then to his Loomians. "Hmm..." He thought. "Twittle," Thane said as he made his first choice, and she flapped her wings confidently. The type advantage would be useful, but who else now? After a moment he made his second pick. "Geklow." The Loomian cheered sarcastically. It would help them understand each other better if they took on a Battle Theatre together. Now, who to pick for the final spot?

Thane's eyes drifted from Embit to Slugling. Both Loomians had a fire in their eyes and stared up at Thane expectantly. Logic and reason told him to pick Embit and have Slugling sit this one out, after all, type disadvantage, but something in his gut was stopping him from making the obvious call. "What do you guys think?" He asked as he looked down at Twittle and Geklow, who both shrugged.

After a few long moments of deliberation, Thane came up with, what he thought, was a foolproof plan. He clapped his hands, getting everyone's attention. "How about this!" He started as he pulled out a coin. "We'll flip a coin! If it's heads, Embit goes, if it's tails, Slugling goes." The two Loomians froze for a second, looked at each other, and nodded in agreement. Thane flipped the coin and showed the rest of the group. It was tails, Slugling took the final slot.

After the choices had been selected and finalized, the three Loomians did light sparring while Embit rested the battle in Igneus Hollow away. At first, he had been upset about losing the coin toss, but then realized, that he was tired from fighting the monks. So, he decided, that not taking part in the battle, was not such a bad thing. After Geklow, Slugling, and Twittle had gotten enough practice, they felt ready to take on Akio. Thane would have rather waited another day or two, but his team insisted. That's how they ended up challenging Akio barely a day after their life-threatening ordeal in Igneus Hollow.

Thane looked up at the Heiwa Battle Theatre. Compared to the Silvent Battle Theatre, the Heiwa Theatre was modest, but that didn't mean it was impressive. Beautiful trees with pink leaves were on either side of the front of the building. Pristine red lanterns hung from the roof and two Revenine statues stood at either side of the entrance. "Here we go," Thane muttered under his breath and pushed the doors open.

Thane was dismayed to see that the inside was nearly identical to the interior of Silvent's Battle Theatre, minus the potent lights. He spoted a man with a black top hat and yellow accents, like the one from the Silvent Theatre. He stood to the side, away from the lines of people buying their tickets, and standing in front of a door marked "Trainers Only" Thane walked up to him and waved. "Hi, I'm here to challenge Akio." The man looked down and smiled. "Thane?" Thane blinked. "Uh, yeah..." With another smile, the man nodded. "Yes, Akio told us to expect you. Come in." He offered as he opened the door for Thane and stepped aside.

Thane sat on one of the cozy armchairs in the waiting room. Embit sat on the couch next to him. He was the only trainer on the roster at the moment. After a few minutes, the announcer poked his head into the room. "Coelho, get out here!" Thane and Embit stood up quickly and followed the announcer into a long hallway. "Stay here until I call you up." The announcer instructed as he slipped into another room, leaving Thane and Embit alone.

After a few minutes, Thane could hear the booming voice of the announcer over the loudspeaker. "Now, please welcome our very special guest!" The voice boomed across the building, and the crowd's road followed steadily. Thane wondered if it could be heard from outside. "Coming all the way from Mitis Town, please give a round of applause to Thane Coelho!!!"
