Never before had he seen shadow act so egregiously on a mission. Keegan had been shot, was now sitting on the ground near a wall where he had slid, pressing down on a bullet wound in his hip. His eyes were wide, watching with slight horror at the person he once thought he knew, tear the enemy asunder without hesitation.

His stomach felt like a pit. Blood was smattered everywhere. shadow was covered in it.
"My fucking God..." he whispered under his breath once the tirade of death was over...

Shadow looks over at Keegan, with tired eyes.

"Y-you alright dude?"

They asked, as they stepped over to Keegan.

Keegan glanced up to them, nodding despite clearly not being okay. He was shivering a bit from shock.
"I'll... I'll be fine."
He tried to stand up and promptly winced.
"Damn it."

shadow sighed, before he cleaned off his hands, from the blood. Then, he noticed something. Shadows breath hitched in his throat, as he released something. He quickly grabbed his own jacket, and put it on, before siping it up. He looks over at Keegan.

"...y-you ready to head back to the base?"

He asked Keegan, trying to recollect his composure.

Keegan was still shivering slightly, but nodded, grateful to have shadow's jacket.
"Yeah, I, uh, don't think I can walk back on my own right now."
He tried to stand up again, and stumbled, almost falling over.
"Damn, this hurts."

shadow sighed, then walked over to Keegan, before he picked him up, bridle style, trying to ignore his 'own problems', and started to walk back to the base. Shadow just looked ahead, not looking at Keegan, at all.

Keegan closed his eyes, doing his best to ignore the pain from his hip. He had to lean into the hold shadow had on him to keep from falling, though he was grateful for the assistance. He had no idea what was going through shadow's head, and he didn't quite want to ask, considering the mood they were in, but he thought about it anyway.
"Um... Shadow?"

"what, Keegan?"

Shadow said to him, and Keegan noticed there was some pain in his tone.

"Um... You alright, shadow? You seem... Distracted."
Keegan wasn't entirely sure why he was asking. He felt like he shouldn't be prying, but he felt like something was off. Maybe he was projecting, but he couldn't shake the concern he felt towards the usually stoic ghost.

"I'm fine."

Shadow answered bluntly, not looking down at Keegan. As they continue to travel, Keegan noticed something leaking from the inside of shadows jacket....it was red...was it blood?

Keegan tensed up at that realization. Maybe he was worrying more than the situation called for, but the blood seemed to be coming from under the jacket, where shadow's own wound might be.
"Shadow... What... What's the blood from? Are you okay?"
Keegan shifted slightly, trying to get a better look at the jacket from his position, even though he knew that might piss shadow off.

shadow sighed, before speaking up, trying to act alright.

"I'll be fine. It's only a small wound."
