Who would have thought bananas were very delicious, they didn't look like it, I thought they were always unripe. Infact…."Hey, look"! Joses shouting from God knows where because what was that he was standing on? Whoever gave this boy the right to call me "Hey'? There was no time to scold him, my curiosity got the better of me.
"Joses, haven't you seen a rainbow before?" I was not too happy…Infact I was angry! I had been disrupted from my train of fancy thoughts over bananas. Yh...mum never really allowed us to eat bananas. She says we can do without them and we would, like we must actually. I and Joses had kept away from them until Eddy started telling tales of a really sweet banana....wait Eddy, where is Eddy?
"Endurance! Endurance!" I and Derele kept calling simultaneously, how do I explain Joses wanting to see the lake and his promise to give us bananas if we took him to the lake we found in the woods (thanks to my brother and I adventurous activities) last year's Christmas?
At this point I couldn't tell how far we had gone but I knew for sure we were lost.
Better be lost in one accord we need to find Eddy. How does a full grown man (If 13 was a man's age) wander off in the bush leaving his friends behind, we could have wandered together, aren't friends supposed to stick together?
"I am not going farther into these woods, it hideous and scary oh no! I shouldn't have followed you" Joses wyned on and on. Goodness! who would have imagine the smile this boy had on his face when he saw a rainbow and now he regrets it?
"Alright let's sit for a while", Joses and I were twins but I kinda behaved older, I grew up taking care of our mother since our dad died when we were just 7. Something tells me his death has something to do with bananas but mum would never tell.
It was first the lake, then I fantasized a little about sweet bananas and then the rainbow and ..."Joses what was that thing you were standing on when you saw the rainbow?" I didn't know why I asked that question but I felt like I did the right thing. Scrap that it was my turn to shout "Hey, look!"
I had seen a frog hopping right in front of me and somehow I knew we were close to the lake and we were tracing our step to the lake..."Eddy"! seems like Joses saw him first. This little sly! We were 2 years older than him yet he acts smarter every time. Now he would claim we didn't take him to the lake that he found it himself.
So much for all we ever did together now, Eddy's an old and Joses is a lot older and I? Well, I am the one who is away from them.
The End.
