I didn't understand what was going on
until it was all over
But now I remember it
as I sit here hungover
Last night was a senior party
so of course there was beer
I looked cool as I drank one
but inside I was full of fear
Another, another, and another
I kept drinking more and more
I was dizzy and started to lose control
I felt so much different than before
All I wanted to do
was go home and sleep
so i said goodbye
and they watched me leave without a peep
I got into my car
and trieed to think about what I'd learned
about not to drink and drive
but that's when my stomach churned
I felt so sick
and needed to go
so I started the car
and thought I'd be fine if I just drive slow
I didn't know how fast I was going
but I must have been going fast
because I didn't see
when the girl rode past
As I zipped down the road
it felt like a dream
The only thing I felt or heard
was the girl's scream
Now I'm unharmed
The gir's crippled forever
just because of me
the dumb drunk driver
