"Thu reach hogayi?" Shubman asked on the video call as he saw Mithra nod. He saw her place her bag down before opening the door. "Your roommate is there?" he asked. "Who said I have a roommate?" she answered before placing the phone on the shelf and sitting down. "Hain?" was the word that left Shubman's mouth. "Yep. I opted for the solo room, where it will be me."

"Why though?" he asked. "So that no one can interrupt me or ask me questions if I'm talking to you," she answered making him smile.

𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗

The drift started. Contact numbers were changed so they couldn't talk much. Her Instagram got messed up, so the connection over there was also cut. But that didn't stop Mithra from watching her best friend gain new achievements as he played for their country. Shubman had gotten a girlfriend who he met during a match in the stadium. The girl was actually nice. But Shubman's parents neither his sister knew about this.

The duo had turned 20 years old. But couldn't wish each other like they could till 2018. That sucked. Mithra celebrated her birthday alone. But her 2 close friends were there with her. The 2 took her out to different places and on the other hand, Shubman celebrated his 20th birthday with his family, Mithra's family as well as the Indian team. Seems like Shubman was currently Gods favorite child.

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎

Mithra got her 1st internship. She was over the moon. Here Shubman's career was going really good as well. The 2 missed each other. Mithra started bawling his eyes out when she saw her photos of them together. She sobbed, just like how Shubman did when he came back home after dropping her at the airport. And also, Shubman and the girl broke up for some stupid reasons. The stupid reason being, her catching him on his phone going through his and Mithra's photos.

But so many other things took place that year. Shubman and his family shifted to a different place and unfortunately couldn't inform Mithra's family as they were out of town. Though they had messaged, Mithra's mom and dad didn't really know where it was. The virus spread, and it killed many people. Thankfully both their families as well as the kids were well and safe. Mithra worked as an intern for a pretty big channel station. 

Soon as months passed by and the virus started reducing slowly, her campus interview came up. She, gladly accepted the offer from an Indian FM. She had researched about them, and it was a very huge and well know Radio Station. Moreover, she was selected as the Main RJ for the FM. Sadly, her parents couldn't attend her graduation but one of her cousins came on behalf.

A few weeks later, Mithra, stepped down at the Chandigarh Airport. But this time, breaking the promise, Shubman was nowhere to be seen.
