This is my new house? I'll admit I wasn't expecting much but it wasn't what I thought it'd be like. It looked like a cosy cottage that you'd see in a fantasy movie, with that wooden support beams and hanging dried flowers.
Austin, my big brother, walked in and was just as shocked as I was. "Holy shit," He said, sounding like a surfer guy from Hollywood. "I didn't know mom and dad could afford anything like this!" The beat word to describe his face would be the word flabbergasted.
"Probrably because we never see them." I rolled my eyes. Way to ruin the mood, I know. But can you really blame me? They'd been abroad my whole life, I'd only ever see them on Christmas or thanks giving. They never even bothered to call us. It was always Austin who was the one who raised me.
"Oh dude," He held my shoulder. "I told them a bit about you and they wanted to surprise you!" He looked more ecstatic than I was. In this situation I'm like garfeild and he's like whatever the happy one is like.
"Surprise me how?" I asked, lifting an eyebrow in mischievous manner. Not that he'd noticed though, half my face was covered by my purple hair.
"Follow me" He started racing up the stairs, whereas I took my time. I'd still sprained my ankle and it hurt more to walk on now than it did at the skatepark.
I limped upto corridor and to what I'm essuming to be my room. A sticker on the door had my name on it in graffiti text. I mean, atleast they tried right?
I opened the door and felt Austin barge past me, I'm not mad at him he does this. He's always super happy and overexcited, me on the other hand, I couldn't care less about anything. Except skating ofcoarse.
I looked around sort of stunned, lava lamps lined one of my new cabinets lighting up the black walls. A wrack behind my door where I could store my jackets or hats. My bed had a black mesh-like curtain around it. The wall opposite to my bed housed many different skateboards and a wrack for all of mine, I have 4.
But the most shocking part, a wooden skate ramp fit closely into a little nook in my room. Complete with a U shape. The floor wasn't carpeted so I think I could possibly skate it?
I stood in shock. "Now I feel pathetic for my little housing gift" Austin stood infront of me, slipping off his backpack and wrustling around in it for something. He pulled out one of those cardboard party bags and a box.
"You shouldn't have," I said awkwardly staring at the back of his head. He placed the 2 gifts into my arms.
His surfer accent was back, making me cringe because we live nowhere near where that accent originates. "Open it when I leave I don't want to see you open it.." After that he looked at me and gave me a half smile and quickly left, closing the door behind him.
I opened the box first. It was a vacuum sealed alien plush and I immediately smiled. About a month ago I'd told him how I think green aliens look cooler than those in sci-fi movies and we got into a little debate about it. I tore open the packaging and it sprung to life, almost taking me down with it. This thing was about 4 ft tall, but so soft.
I threw it onto my bed, through the gap I the curtains. And I saw a little basketball hoop and 3 plush basketballs aligning my pillows. I don't know where they got that part from, I'm not sporty at all. Other than skating.
I moved my attention to the bag, it had a cool looking alien print on it so I tried my best not to tear it as I unpealed the tape, the bag popped open and I saw a bunch of alien themed things. Stretching from those aliens in the egg of slime to the alien keychains.
I walked over to where the dressing table was and placed the bag on there. Oh I feel one coming, this is going to be a big one. I stretched my arms up and let out maybe the biggest yawn I'd ever yawned. I think I even blacked out for about 10 seconds. I was just reminded how tired I was. That Zachary guy said it'd be a few towns over yet it was over an hours drive.
I walked over to my bed and fell flat onto it, cuddling up to my new alien plush. I started thinking about cringe things I used to do but quickly blocked that out. And then, it all went blank.
Really short chapter I just wanted to depict how his room looked.
The next chapter will be about him going to school ;)
