Lay enters the room just as Bay comes out of the bathroom dressed in my clothes. He scans her from top to bottom and nudges my ribs. "I thought you didn't let anyone borrow your clothes?" he questions, smirking.
"Shut up! She doesn't have any other clothes to change into," I argue and he puts his hands up in defense, still smirking.
"Alright now that you're here..." I clap and begin to back out of the room.
"Baekhyun!" Bay narrows her eyes and pouts.
"Ahaha, Baekhyun-ah. She wants you to stay," Lay pouts too, his eyes mocking me.
I sigh and rub the back of my neck. "I can't abandon my plans, hyung."
"What plans?"
"Jogging."
Lay bursts out laughing. "Why are you going jogging when we're in Hong Kong?"
I can't tell him that it's because I'm insecure as a man, or making up for the manliness that I unfortunately lack. "Ask Bay if she wants to accompany me," I shake my head in defeat.
Bay agrees enthusiastically and Lay decides to come along as a translator. We come across Chanyeol on our way to the elevator and he just continues to stare suspiciously at the girl we picked up yesterday. I make a mental note to ask him why he does that later.
"How long have you been on morning runs?" Lay asks.
"Almost two months," I tell him, looking down at my phone. I'm behind schedule.
"Oh so does that mean you can keep up with me now?" Lay smirks.
I stop walking and glare at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Baekhyun-ah. I'm a dancer. I have way more endurance than you," he says, shrugging his shoulders.
I scoff lightly and Bay looks between me and Lay curiously, entertained by our competitive tones. "All of us dance, Lay-ssi," I retort. "Are you challenging me?"
"Whoever can go the longest?" he smirks, welcoming the challenge with open arms.
I remember we still have Bay with us. Lay seems to remember too.
"Bay do you think you can keep up with us?" Lay asks her, ready to send her back up to the others if she can't.
She seems to understand that there's a competition going on so she nods excitedly. She stretches her legs and waits for us to start. I laugh at her determined face and keep in mind to stop running if she can't handle it anymore. "Ready?" I turn to Lay.
"Whenever you are," he smiles, and checks up on Bay. She gives him a quick nod and we set out on our way around the park. Bay seems to be able to keep up rather well. In fact, at times she somehow gets a bit further in front of us and realizes, then, slowing down just a bit.
After the sixty minute mark, Lay and I are feeling just a bit fatigued. Lay's hair is matted down with his sweat and I can feel beads of sweat sliding down my neck. Bay, on the other hand, is still going. Not only that. She looks as if she had just started jogging and not an hour ago. We look at her back with disbelief and I can't help feeling bad about myself. I bet Lay is shocked too. To be outrun by a girl as small as Bay. Well she isn't really that small compared to most girls we see in Korea. She's at an admirable approximate 168 cm. She turns her head to glance at us. We make eye contact and she smiles gently before keeping her eyes in front of her.
I exchange glances with Lay and he shakes his head, silently telling me he needs to keep going. I nod in agreement. We keep going for another hour but Bay doesn't seem anywhere close to wanting or needing to stop. Now, it's not even a competition between me and Lay. It's between us and the girl in front of us who's tougher than she appears. Way tougher.
"Bay," I call out to her. She slows down and looks at me, her eyes twinkling as though she knows she has beaten us. "Let's go back now."
"Yeah we've been doing this for too long," Lay agrees. "Everyone's probably awake by now."
Bay stops and nods, heading back in the direction where we came from. "Dammit who is she?" Lay exclaims, shaking his head in embarrassment.
"I have absolutely no idea," I respond, following right behind her, trying to figure it out myself.
