Chapter 1: The Bet

Olive Doyle walks into the cafeteria and sits down across from Chyna, who is glued to her A.N.T pad. "Hey Chyna", she says. "Hey Olive", Chyna says, not looking up from the screen. "Hello? Earth to Chyna!", Olive says waving her hand in front of Chyna's face. "Oh sorry", Chyna says putting her A.N.T pad down and looking at Olive, "I've been watching this cool new show called Love Island, it's where a bunch of men and women partake in a bunch of challenges on an island and the winners get to go on a date together, it's really cool". "Oh cool", says Olive, "I wish I could get a boyfriend...". That gives Chyna an idea and she says, "Olive if you can get yourself a boyfriend by the end of the year I will buy you free smoothies for a year". Olive loves smoothies so she said, "Really? You're on". "Good luck, and if you fail the bet and can't get a boyfriend, you have to be my slave for a whole year", Chyna says evily". "Oh that ain't happening", Olive says determined, "In fact I'm gonna go find a boyfriend right now, bye Chyna". Olive gets up from the table. "Bye Olive, can't wait for you to be my slaveeee", Chyna says.

Normally Olive wouldn't be worried about a bet like this but it is December so she literally has a month to get a boyfriend. Olive runs out of the cafeteria and goes around to many boys asking if they will go on a date with her, but they all reject her. Olive sits on the second floor stairs and sighs. Fletcher sees her and goes over to her. "Hey Olive, what's wrong?", Fletcher asks, sitting next to Olive. "Oh hey Fletcher...", Olive says, "I made a stupid bet with Chyna that I could get a boyfriend by the end of the year. If I don't I have to be her slave for an entire year". Olive groans. "And what if you do?", Fletcher asks. "Then she will buy me free smoothies for an entire year", Olive says looking at him. "Oh well I know how much you love smoothies so how about I be your fake boyfriend?", Fletcher proposes. "Are you serious?", Olive asks. "Yes I am serious", Fletcher says. "What if Chyna finds out we aren't really together?" Olive asks. "I don't know but we better hide that pretty well because when Chyna is mad she can be pretty scary", Fletcher says. Olive laughs. "Yeah that's true", she says.

Fletcher and Olive talk for a while. "So its settled then", Fletcher says, "starting tomorrow I am your fake boyfriend". "SHH", Olive whispers loudly, "Chyna is right over there by her locker". Olive points to Chyna standing at her locker. "Oh crap", Fletcher says, "Hope she didn't hear any of that...". "Just be more quiet so she can't hear any of that!", Olive says. Then the bell rings so they both stand up and head to class.
