It was the day that Abigail had been dreading.

"Am I looking ok? I don't want him to run away."

Adeline smoothed down her dress.

"You look beautiful. He'd be crazy to run away. And you know I'll kill him if he does anything."

Adeline laughed. In a sudden move, she kissed Abigail on the cheek.

Abigail stood there, stunned.

"Let's leave, come on",  she beckoned to Abigail.

"Yes, let's go."

Ten minutes later, they were in front of the cafe.

"I'll see you later and tell you all about it, okay?"

"You'd better"

Adeline walked into the cafe.

Abigail turned as though she was going to walk down the street, but then abruptly turned around again, making her way to the restroom.

She changed into another shirt, applied some makeup, and put on a pair of sunglasses.

'Perfect', she said to herself.

She walked to a table near the one where she could vaguely see Adeline's face.

She watched her every move, clenching her fist whenever she saw Oliver making Adeline laugh, and when Oliver brushed his hand across Adeline's, making her blush.

She looked behind once when she heard a person screaming about a spider in their food. When she turned to look at them once again, she was horrified.

Oliver was inching close to Adeline, whose eyes were closed. He leaned in to kiss her-

Abigail couldn't bear it. Oliver could NOT be Adeline's first kiss.

She was unable to control herself.

She walked over to their table and grabbed a glass of water.

***********

Oliver was drenched.

Adeline was screaming.

Abigail wasn't sure if she was dreaming or not, until a slap brought her back to reality. Adeline had slapped her on her cheek, the same cheek she had kissed that very afternoon.

"I can't believe you betrayed me. I thought we were bestfriends, closer than sisters!"

Adeline was in tears.

She turned and ran out of the cafe.
