AN: I want to start with a hello! My name is Mia and I have been desperately trying to write a fanfiction for years and have been struggling. I am the type that will write something and immediately hate it after overthinking it. I'm gonna try not to do that this time. My writing is not the best. I am not saying that deter you from reading, but to prepare. I plan on going back and editing things, but only once I have finished writing it all. Don't worry, I've checked punctuation and grammar, so those should be fine, or the best they can be with my knowledge. Trust me, I made sure. I hate reading fan fiction with an interesting concept and then I can't even make it through the first chapter because of its illegibility.
I think my main problem is consistency. I try to plan my characters out and planning isn't my strong suit. My technique is to write whatever and hope I don't accidentally make the character's personality too conflicting. That will be the main thing I edit in the future. It's the same with already pre-established characters. I'll try not to veer off the personalities that have already been written and set in stone for the characters in The Vampire Diaries.
The last thing I have to say is this won't be exactly like the actual series. Obviously, with a new character in the mix things will change, but I want to say that so that you're not expecting the exact same thing as the show. I will follow the plotlines and dialogue, but I may branch out a lot.
