Chapter 1: The lab

~~~~~~Everton Meadows laboratory~~~~~~

Olivia Scarlett, Melanie, and Ellen were meeting Olivia's older cousins that went by the name Dr.Michael Blake Knight. He decided to see whether the girls could volunteer in an experiment in the local city lab.

He lit the lights in the room where he was working.The place was slightly faint ,flashing and buzzing was heard lightly, as stables with bottles of mysterious colored
chemicals displayed around.A television was seen on a certain table with tubes and wires connected to machines while displaying static and snow with a stack of films, and video games.

"This is gonna be exciting! Fun!" Melanie bellowed

"Looks like one of my grandparent's tv, hey Michael what's with the bulky dinosaur technology there?" Olivia asked

"Well girls, here is a experiment we're testing and I thought all of you might like"

Michael made his way to the hooked up television while continuing to explain, "It has the ability to teleport one of you four to any world, it could be a videogame, a movie, or a show"

"Really?!" Melanie chirped

"Yes m'am, and you could pick whatever world of your choice that we provided, it's just a fun little experiment..just for fun, and explore that world, bring back a distinctive item from that world."

"A-anything? What could happen if you bring back someone? Ellen asked in a nervous but eager voice

"Anything, and I am- well I am not..we'll see what would happen just stay safe and be aware and don't bring back a monster, please since that creature or item is here..it's here FOR GOOD...so who's up first?"

Ellen started to slowly and shyly raise up her hand till Melanie cut her off in excitement.

"Ooo! Me! Me!....Me!" Melanie quickly raised her hand

"Okay Melanie, ok." Michael pulled out the provided ranges of tapes, cds, and DVDs, movies and games, from horror to animated family films on to the countertop.

Melanie swiped a game called "Resident Evil Village"

"Before you head in...you can only stay in there for so long till the tv portal closes" Michael warned Melanie sternly

Michael prepped the right videogame station for the cd then connected the system to the television box.

"In and out.. remember? "Michael reminded Melanie while she headed to the tv as the game's main screen popped up, Michael pressed the game's play button with the controller skipping through the introduction,"Now in order to teleport ,just simply... place your hand among the screen"

"Ok! Yay!" Melanie plops her hand on the screen's cold surface.

Suddenly, the screen becomes much brighter and flashes violently. Melanie's hand began to sink through the screen like quick sand as it pulled her in causing the ceiling light fixture to flash and buzz even louder.The display became snow.

"Wait..we can't see the game and her??" Scarlett sternly asked

The lights soon return to normal

"...Fun"Olivia parrots Melanie smugly with a raised brow

"Now, now Olivia, we're all going to get a turn" Scarlett reminding Olivia in a certain tone with crossed arms and a frown

"...sorry.." Olivia looks down at her feet.

The group waited for Melanie's return as Michael took out a wooden clipboard and papers jotting down notes of the Melanie's teleportation into the game and how the tv mysteriously return to snow and static

Silence.

Later the screen starts to flash again, flashing static then at the map that Melanie is at, then back to static, repeating till stayed to static. Melanie's foot stepped down first, Olivia and Michael helped Melanie out of the portal with the revealing said item.

The item Melanie came back was a Med injector with deep cuts and scars over her.

"oh no-! Aw jeez Mel!" Scarlett exclaimed in a concerned voice

"I was careful..well trying to be-"

Michael took the game out, "Welp, I apologize..I thought that game would least be a bit trustworthy.." he sighs while putting the game in a desk drawer.

"But it was fuuun!"

"Yeah but we need to bandage ya up, 'Ms.Fun' " Olivia tells Melanie while putting her hands on her hips.

Michael grabs a med kit and attends to Melanie's scars. "Now, who's next?"

The two girls, Olivia and Scarlett picked choices that were more light-hearted.Scarlett came back with a Super mushroom from "Super Mario bros".Olivia came back with a floating gold shining ring from "Sonic the hedgehog".

Ellen's turn.

Michael checked some boxes down the gazes upon Ellen. "Ellen?"Ellen flinches while staring at some of the wall art, she slowly looks at Michael."Y-yes?"

"Your turn?"

Ellen quietly walks to the variety section of movies, she spots the movie she was looking for.
She showed it to Michael.

"Oh! That one, yeah when I was talking to Olivia about this experiment, she said you like that..cutesy, colorful little movie." He gently took the dvd from Ellen and placed the disk in the player.

"Now let me know what scene you want me to play" Michael scrolled through the scenes with his remote on the screen till Ellen pointed to a particular one.

"Ya sure?"

Ellen nodded, Olivia and Scarlett glanced at each with scowls upon their faces.

"Will..ok then"

Ellen walked up the glowing screen and softly placed her hand on it. The screen sucked her into her chosen movie's world.

"I knew she'll choose that movie."

"..Ugly Dolls?"

"Eeyup"

"She'll probably bring back a cute little trinket or a clothing item" Olivia shrugged "Say, if she heads into this particular world, would she become one of them?"

"Pretty much"
