"Fuck!" he heard someone mutter to themselves. Thomas looked around and saw another guy in the distance.

"A-are you alright?" Thomas yelled. The guy sprung a bit, but when noticing Thomas he calmed down.

"Not really!" the guy yelled. "I'm stuck!"

Thomas quickly walked through the trees to the guy, who stood still at a tree.

"You got your foot stuck...in a tree?" Thomas smiled, raising his brow.

"Yes." the guy bit back. "Are you going to be nice to me?"

"Sure thing, darling." Thomas said, inspecting the foot. He softly grabbed the guys ankle, which was covered by light blue jeans.

"I think you have tug it." Thomas said.

"No shit." the guy said sarcastically. Thomas rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but smile. Why did he feel like this? He usually would've thought the guy was an asshole. But there was something soft about him.

The guy tugged it while Thomas tried to take off the branches and free his foot. Eventually, after pulling quite a bit, the guy suddenly fell on the floor of leaves.

"Shit! Are you alright?" Thomas asked. The guy huffed, but kept lying down.

"Myeah." the guy said.

"You need a hand?" Thomas felt awkward asking it, but the guy just kept lying down like the weirdo he was.

"The sky is nice." The guy said. Thomas looked up. The sky slowly started to turn into a light blue color.

"It is." Thomas answered. Thomas looked at the floor of leaves and debated lying down next to the guy.

"I'm Newt." the guy suddenly said, reaching out his hand.

"Thomas. Nice to meet you." Thomas shook Newt's hand. Newt suddenly pulled Thomas' hand, making Thomas fall down next to him. Newt smirked, making Thomas chuckle.

"That was- mean!" Thomas gasped, still in disbelief of what just happened. Newt giggled like a kid, sending flutters into Thomas' heart. What was happening to him? He felt so comfortable around this guy that he just met. It felt like there was an instant connection between them, an invisible string.

The guys lied down next to each other for a while.

"Where are you from?" Thomas asked. "How haven't we met before?"

Newt looked a little lost in thoughts. "I just came here. I don't know. I just wanted something different, you know?" Newt looked at Thomas, his brown eyes glistening in the morning sun. Thomas nodded.

Newt eventually tried to get up, but was about to fall when Thomas caught him.

"You okay?" Thomas asked, seeing Newt's face crunch up in pain.

"No, my ankle didn't make it." he said. Thomas tried to keep in his laugh, as it was a serious matter.

"Where are you staying? I could help you get there." Thomas said.

"O-oh no no need for t-that" Newt laughed a bit nervously, making Thomas confused. Newt tried to step further but quickly held onto Thomas' broad shoulders.

'Seriously, Newt, I can help." Thomas reassured him. Newt sighed and looked up.

"I don't have a place," he answered. Thomas raised a brow, making Newt sigh.

"As in, I am basically just here with my little backpack and nothing else. I am kind of an idiot, you see? A big goofball." Newt complained. Thomas smiled, making Newt raise a brow.

"Well then, goofball, would it be so goofy for you to stay over at my place then?" Thomas offered. Newt smiled back.

"If you don't mind. I really don't want to ruin your house." Newt said.

"Nah, you can't ruin it more than I already have." Thomas said, making Newt chuckle again.
