ONCE UPON A time, Dora Vulcan had it all. Looking back, she had the perfect childhood. Her father had always been by her side, proud of every accomplishment she made. He gave her whatever she wanted, no matter how outlandish the request was. Her father's love should have been enough for her. But it wasn't. Dora had wanted more from life. She wanted to be more than her father's daughter, more than just a God's creation.
Dora wanted power and power ruined everything.
When Dora first encountered the God of Death, she could sense the raw power dripping off of him. Her father had warned her of Hades and his temptations, but Dora had always been curious about the God of Death. He was an outcast, like her, and outcasts needed to stick together. So, when Hades began whispering in her ear of a box filled with endless amounts of power, Dora's interest had been piqued.
She had known of the box's existence before that fateful day. It had sat in her father's workshop for as long as she could remember, sitting on a pedestal, away from his other creations. The box had always seemed to call out to her, begging for her to open it, but everytime she reached out, her father would be there to stop her. So for years, the box sat untouched, just out of Dora's reach.
After her conversation with Hades, Dora snuck into her father's workshop and without a second thought, Dora opened the box.
And with that one decision, Dora cursed herself to a life of loneliness and despair.

———FAITH TALKS! so, i began working on this story all the way back in 2021. i published the story back in 2022, decided i didn't like it at the moment, and chose to unpublish it until now. as of right now, there is no love interest and i don't know if i will have one for this story. the whole point of the story is dora's overall character arc and i feel like adding a love interest might diminish it. also, this will follow the books, not the show. you can imagine the main characters however you like. i hope y'all enjoyed the summary!
