Chapter Two
"Dude, I'm bored," whined Brendon.
"Me too," Tyler threw his controller on the couch next to Alex. "Alex are you even here?!"
The guys were at Tyler's place, lounging on the couch, playing PlayStation and gorging on junk.
Alexander looked at both of his friends with a blank expression on his face, "Yeah, you were saying..?"
"You're a dick, man," Brendon got up from the floor. "I'm gonna get some thing to drink. Anybody coming?"
"Me," Tyler followed him as they made their way to the kitchen.
Alex sighed. He didn't know what was going on. He was still pondering over what had happened that morning.
At lunch.
After school.
There was only one thing - or person - that occupied his mind.
Beatrice Parker.
The sound of the doorbell brought Alex back to his senses. He looked towards the kitchen to check if either Ty or Bren were coming to get the door, but when no one came out he got up to open it himself.
The person outside rung the bell again. "People these days have no patience," mumbled Alex to himself and said aloud, "Coming, hold up!"
Half-jogging his way to the door he opened it and was awestruck.
"Hey, Blue eyes."
"H-hey, Hayley."
Hayley Dickson was Tyler's twin and Alexander's crush. Her long brunette hair and freckled nose captured Alex, hypnotizing him. He had known Hayley as long as he had known Tyler and ever since the first time he saw her in her Donald Duck pyjamas and messed up bed-hair, and the way she didn't give a damn about it, Alex knew this girl was special.
"Where's my brother?" Hayley said breaking him out of the trance.
"Uh - he is in the kitchen," he replied.
"You won't believe what happened today," she plopped on the couch with her legs crossed underneath her. Alex smiled. "We almost burnt down the chemistry lab!" she exclaimed and continued to tell him about the adventure. Alex couldn't take his eyes off of her. There was something about Hayley that put him at peace.
"Ugh, why can't the Almighty give me two hours of peace?!" Tyler groaned as he and Brendon returned from the kitchen with four cans of soda.
"Shut up, you love me," Hayley said cheekily and clawed a can from her twin.
"Unfortunately."
Brendon laughed at the two siblings and threw a can at Alex, who caught it in mid air. He stood next to him,"Earth to, Mister Hayes," he said, snickering, as he opened his can and gulped down the drink.
"I wasn't.." Alex blushed.
"Aww, man. You're kinda cute, you know," Bren laughed earning a smoldering glare from his best friend. "Why don't you just tell her?"
"I don't know," Alex confessed. "What if it makes things awkward between us? And what if Tyler doesn't like it?"
Brendon took another long sip from his can but before he could speak Alex's cellphone buzzed in his pocket. A call from an unknown number..? Who could it be? Alex wondered as he took the call, "Hello?"
"Where the hell are you, Nutty?! I've been standing in the middle of nowhere since the past twenty minutes!" an annoyed voice spoke on the other side of the phone.
