"So what's the diagnosis doc?" Dan says as Tatum squeezes his *non-injured* hand*
"Broken hand."
*Shit...*
"You can still wrestle but you're going to have to wear a cast."
*Daniel nods as Tatum looks at him like "It's best if you take things easy"
*The doctor goes to get the cast as Tatum's phone buzzes* "Oh! AP says he wants You and I, Roxanne and Xander, Troy and Thea, Carter and Cora, Duncan and Fallon, Kaz and Emilia, Zayden and Ivy and Mason and Jacy in his office."
"Oh! Are we in trouble?"
"No it doesn't say."
"That's...odd."
"Odd indeed." Tatum Nods as The Doc fits Daniel for the cast and puts it on.
"Thanks again Doc."
"No problem though Tatum next time keep him out of trouble will you?"
*She laughs* No promises Doc.
*Jump cut to AP's office* (Note:AP is the onscreen commissioner of NXT for these books. Thanks again to LogansLegion for letting me use one of the lads!)
*We see all of the couples stood there as they wait for AP to show up. Thea's messing around with Troy's shirt, Jacy's being a dick to Emilia because why not and Fallon and Pax are having a nice conversation.*
"Thank you all for showing up here today ladies and gentlemen."
"Yeah but you didn't tell us what it's for Mr Levesque." Jacy quips with a snarky smirk.

"If you'd let me finish Ms Jayne I was getting there. I gathered you all here today because of an opportunity. You lucky 8 will have the chance of a lifetime. Next week the NXT Mixed Match Challenge returns and you are the lucky 8 that got selected by the NXT committee headed by myself and Shawn, to compete."
*Xander and Rox share a look and a nod*
"Sounds awesome Mr. Levesque, but...what are the stakes? What do we have to lose?"
"Ah yes the prizes...the winners will receive a shot at their respective belt at a time of their choosing."
*The room goes into a furor of excitement and frenzy.*
"Pfft. Easy win for us Right Jace?"
"Yuuuuup!" Jacy knocks Mason on the shoulder and they share a laugh. "Easy competition."
"Oh I'm sure you won't be saying that after I show you the brackets Mr. Hensley and Ms Jayne."

"Next week Emilia and Kaz will take on Mason and Jacy *Jacy has the best "you're Fucking joking" expression on her face* and, hmm seems I got the Order Mixed up. Jade/Vandenburg is supposed to be facing Briggs/Paxley." *AP makes a quick adjustment* "Ah there we go. Carter and Cora will face Daniel and Tatum next week on NXT. And then in two weeks Perez and Levine will take on Zayden and Ivy, and Fallon and Duncan will take on Thea and Troy."
*Everyone's eyes seem to glimmer with excitement at this massive opportunity laid before them.*
"Thanks Mr Levesque for this opportunity. We *Tousles Rox's hair* won't let you down!"
*AP chuckles as everyone leaves the room*
"Sooo...we're in this thing and you've got a broken hand."
"Yeah and? That won't stop me from taking us to the finals.."
"I don't think your hand is ready for this Danny."
"Tatum I've been through worse."

*Daniel chuckles* "Oh we'll see Pax. We'll see..." *They both head off to enjoy the rest of the day*
