Louri’s POV
I woke up to Karsten’s? voice coming through the baby monitor. “Scarlett.” I say  nugging her shoulder softly. “Scarlett.” I say a little louder. “Mmh?” She hums. “There’s a tall Danish man in our son's room.” I say. “Huh? Oh Louri that’s my Dad you know that.” She says. “I know but he is tall and he is Danish.” I say. “If he’s got it handled then why did you wake me?” Scarlett is clearly not happy that I woke her. “Because that’s the ‘I’m hungry’ cry.” I point out. “It is. Can you get him and bring him in here?” She asks. “Yeah oh wait your mom just went in.” I say. “Karsten, what are you doing? He’s clearly hungry. You have kids, you know the different cries.” Melanie says. “Yes and I am looking for the formula because Scarlett and Louri need rest.” Karsten says. “There are bottles in the fridge downstairs, just get one of those and heat it up.” Melanie says. “Seems they have this handled.” I say. “Yes but I’m clingy.” Scarlett says. “Ok I’ll go get him.” I say and I get up and head to the nursery. “Hey.” I say getting their attention. “Oh I was hoping I would get to him before he woke you so you could rest.” Karsten says. “That’s very sweet. Scarlett and I heard you through the monitor. And I told her it seemed you two had this handled and her reply was ‘yes but I’m clingy’ so I have been sent to get him.” I say. “Here’s Mama.” Karsten says handing him to me. “Well I know you two got it from here I am going back to bed.” Melanie says. “Goodnight Melanie.” “Sleep well Mel.” Karsten and I speak at the same time. Karsten and I bid each other goodnight and I grabbed a few diapers and another onesie just in case. “Ok Tommy let’s go to Mommy.” I say and he just looks at me. “Come here my sweet boy.” Scarlett says as I hand him over. “I grabbed a few things just in case.” I say holding up the small bag. “Seems I’m not the only one who is clingy.” She laughs softly as she feeds Thomas. “Maybe I’m a little clingy.” I admit. “Just a little?” She asks with a raised eyebrow. “Ok, very clingy.” I chuckle. “I figured as much.” She says. “Did you get a burp cloth?” She asks. “Yep right here.” I say holding it up. “Do you want me to burp him?” I ask. “Yes please.” She says and when Thomas has decided that he’s done Scarlett hands him over to me so I can start to burp him. “It was kinda funny hearing my mom scold my dad.” Scarlett says. “Yeah it was, wasn't it?” I chuckle. “Ope I think someone is asleep.” Scarlett whispers pointing to Thomas who has fallen asleep in my arms. “How come Maya can understand that Thomas is her brother but refuses to believe that Carly is my sister?” I ask as I slowly sit in bed up against the headboard doing my best not to wake up Thomas. “I don’t know but Carly and John are coming tomorrow. Maybe we can help convince Maya that she is your sister.” Scarlett says. “I didn’t know they were coming.” I say. “Oh fuck I forgot that was supposed to be a surprise.” Scarlett says face palming. “I’m glad you told me. I’m too tired for surprises. I will act surprised if you want me to.” I say. “Yeah could you. Because they told me it was a surprise. But I’ve got other things on my mind and it just slipped out.” She says. “It’s ok.” I say using my free hand to hold hers. “Mama.” We hear Louisa from the doorway. “Yeah sweetheart?” I ask. “I can’t sweep, can I sweep with you?” She says. “Of course you can. Come on up here sweetheart.” I tell her and she climbs onto the bed and settles herself between Scarlett and I and leans into my side. “Did baby bwother not sweep too?” She asks, pointing to her brother. “Yeah he woke up a little bit ago. When did you wake up?” Scarlett asks. “I don't know.” She shrugs. “Well have you been up all night or did you wake up and couldn’t get back to sleep?” I ask. “Woke up.” She says with a yawn. “Ok well you get some rest sweetheart.” Scarlett says softly and places a kiss on her head. “Goodnight Sweetheart.” I say and Louisa just nods and maybe ten minutes later she is out like a light. “I can tell you are getting tired. I'll put him in the bassinet so you don’t have to get up and disturb Louisa.” Scarlett says. “Thank you.” I say and I gently hand her Thomas being careful not to wake him. Luckily Scarlett doesn’t have to go far since we keep a bassinet in our room for moments just like this. After she lays him down she crawls back into bed and at this point Louisa has moved on top of me and Scarlett wraps her arm around my shoulders and holds me and Louisa close. I rest my head on her shoulder and she rests her head on my head. “Louisa still hides in my neck even around Carly.” I say out of nowhere. “That’s because she doesn’t see her very much so she doesn’t really know her. And you know how she is with people she doesn’t know.” Scarlett says as she runs her free hand through Louisa’s hair. “I am glad she was able to get comfortable around Chris again after the whole screaming match a few months ago.” Scarlett says. “Yeah me too. I was really worried she’d crawl farther into her shell.” I tell her. “But luckily she didn’t and now she’s happy when she sees him. And she’s getting more comfortable around Bri and Shanna.” Scarlett says. “That she is. I know it’s hard for her but I’m proud of what she’s been able to get over or through.” I say smiling down at Louisa. “Yeah I think the therapy is really helping her.” Scarlett says. “Yeah I would agree with that.” I say. “I was surprised she would even talk to the therapist.” I say. “Well they are trained on how to deal with patients like Louisa.” Scarlett says. “That’s true they are.” I nod.
