The world is different than what we remember the water is different, a strange mist now lives inside of the water we can no longer hunt for animals because there are none left for us to use as food or have as pets due to them drinking water and instantly dying we have grown used to not drinking water our thirst for water has long since disappeared, the air in the world is almost toxic almost as if a bomb of some sorts has been set off in close proximity to our home we have adapted to live without the air as well we have been living without air for years now, the plants have made the surface of the planet theirs to live on we had to retreat to the underground of the world where we are safe and have been for years though our leaders have started gathering ten warriors together to go off and try to claim the surface world as ours so we can have sunlight instead of relying on fires to give us our vitamins now.
The world is nothing like it used to be the lushes green grass the beautiful sea colored sky is gone, the chirping of the birds hasn't filled the silent void of the underground or the surface in over ten hundred years there is nothing left to bring us joy expect for our families but if someone is drafted up to the surface world due to the choosing then families have to wait for their sons or daughters to be brought back by their teammates or they have to brave the surface world on their own to get their child's body, most of the time parents and their children don't come back when they go to retrieve their child's body, there is a legend of one of the ten breaking the promise made to us that live underground due to the fact that she had fallen in love with the worlds new beauty and how quiet the world has seemed to become.
We have been waiting in the underground for years now waiting in fear that the surface world will reach the underground we fear that this might as well be our last year we have heard of the other underground cities have fallen to the surface world and that no one has survived the long and brutal massacre that had occurred some say that monsters from the darkest place in the world have taken up a home on the surface were they are the only ones that can survive and thrive, our people still have hope that one day we will safe and nothing will get in our way of a peaceful life if we are able to survive the creatures of the surface coming down and killing us in a brutal way, our ancestors have long since left us the elders have given up hope that the world will go back to normal, it's almost as if we have forgotten the past the history books have all been burned as they had held the true story behind the reason why the world has betrayed it life.
Our leaders have issued a rule that those that are not training in the undergrounds forces are not to talk about the surface world many teachers and students have tried to preach the truth about the world only for them to disappear a day later one of those happened to be a young sibling pairs parents as they were training yet the spoke of the truth of the world as if they were the ones there in the first place, this is their story on how they discover the worlds secrets but can they do it before one of them are drafted into the underground forces or will the true reason stay hidden for another thousand years?
