Warm morning sun rested on my face, leaving me a little too comfortable in my bed. Will I ever get up? I thought, until I was coincidentally interrupted by my morning alarm.
Good vibes flowed throughout my room from the sound of "Could you be loved" by Bob Marley played from my phone. I stretched my short arms out for the device with a smile of my face.
My alarm was titled, 'get up, it's the first day of summer!'. After clicking stop, my eyes widened when I saw the amount of text messages I had.

I hopped out of bed and went to brush my teeth. I snatched my Wet brush and yanked though my matted overnight hair.
After searching through my overflowing swimsuit drawer for too long, I finally found my favorite solid pink triangle bikini. I picked out my shortest pair of jean shorts, in celebration of the first day of summer break, and a white tank over my suit.
I threw on a pair Birkenstocks, grabbed my car keys, and headed out the front door. Conveniently, I lived in the same neighborhood as Sarah, my best friend.
Sarah and I have been friends since I moved here in middle school. Last summer, I was at her house more than my own.
I pulled up Sarah's long driveway, smiling at the thought that it is officially summer break. I open the door of my white Ford Bronco, my pink Lululemon keychain clanging against my keys.
I walk around to the back of the mansion, admiring the new landscape Rose must have added recently. Sarah immediately notices me as I walk over to the group of people sitting around her back patio.
"Brooke! I'm so glad you came!" Sarah squeals, hugging me tighter than usual.
"Hi! What are we doing today?"
"Probably going on the water, Topp just got a new Malibu Wakesetter." Sarah giggles while glancing at Topper.Topper is Sarah's boyfriend, he has been my family friend for years. Topp is a good guy, so I am happy for Sarah.
I look around the patio, to make up who I was spending my day with. Kelce, Topper, Rafe and two annoyingly hot guys were the only others there.
"Who are those guys I haven't seen before?" I whisper to Sarah.
"Those are my family friends, their brothers and their staying here for two months of this summer. Perfect for you." Sarah winked. The unknown brunette's blue eyes eye me up and down, observing every inch of my body. "You must be Brooke, I'm Jason." He says, patting his hand on the seat next to him.
"Nice to meet you, Jason." I smile as I take the seat.
"I don't think I've met you either. I'm Matt, Jason's brother." The dirty blonde boy says with a slight grin.I give Matt a sweet smile and take a sip of Sarah's drink, feeling Kelce's eyes watching me. The group continued chatting, but I get up to get my own drink.
As I open the door, I notice the sound of footsteps trailing behind me. Ignoring it, I snatch a red solo cup from the counter and pour a generous amount of Malibu in it.
"Getting frisky for the new guys?" A voice says, close behind me. I turn, "Oh Kelce! Hi.."
"Shall we get a head start out to the marsh?" He asks, his hands reaching out for me.I pause to think, knowing his intentions. I have never been that into Kelce, it always felt forced on me by all of my friends.
"You can go ahead, I think I'll stay back though."
"Damn, really? C'mon, it'll just be the two of us."
"Im good, Kelce."
"Are you sure?" He says, his face inching closer to me.
"Yea-""She said she's sure, Kelce." A stern voice says coming from the back door.
Kelce quickly turned, his back facing me now. "Rafe! Since when are you her bodyguard?"
"Since you decided to be an asshole."
"Whatever man." Kelce scoffs, storming out of the kitchen.I stand there for a second, before grabbing my drink and slowly walking past Rafe, back out to the patio.

It's well past midnight, Kelce, Topper, and Rafe had already left, and I was needing to get back home. I'm not sure why Rafe left, considering he lived here, but I got up from my seat to leave.
My vision was blurred, forgetting how much I had drank throughout the day and night. I knew I couldn't drive, no one there could, so I walked. I live close enough, it shouldn't take too long to get home.
I walk along the sidewalks of figure eight, nearly stumbling on every step I take, thinking about Kelce and how demanding he was being.
I glance up at the light pole, squinting my eyes while trying to read the street name. "Oakmont Road.. Woo-Hoo." I yell, probably a little too loud considering it was past 1 AM by now.
After walking along that street for longer than usual, I start to realize that I took a wrong turn. I was about to walk the direction I came, until I noticed Rafe's red motorcycle parked a couple houses down.
