Chapter 67
Louri’s POV
Today I decided that we are going for a little trip as a family. I researched online this beautiful cabin up in Lake Tahoe and decided it would be the perfect mini getaway. I have invited Ma, Melanie and Karsten and they easily agreed. I went to our room and started peppering Scarlett’s face with kisses. She started laughing and woke up. “What’s this for?” She asks, placing her hand on my cheek. “I wanted to wake you and tell you we are going on a small getaway trip with the whole family!” I tell her. “Really? Where are we going?” She asks. “I found this beautiful cabin in Lake Tahoe,” I tell her. “Oh that sounds lovely. But you do realize that’s a 7 and a half hour drive with 4 little ones right?” She asks. “Yes and we are going to make the best of it. Also your parents and Ma are coming but they will be driving separately.” I say to her, “Well this sounds like it’s going to be a great time,” she says and leans into me kissing me. “It will be,” I tell her, smiling. We get off the bed and start packing for the trip. Ma and Melanie said they would get the kids' stuff packed up so we don’t have to worry about that. We would just pack for Thomas.
I finished packing my suitcase so I decided to work on packing one for Thomas. Scarlett started pumping so we had bottles prepared in case Thomas needed a feeding during the drive. I brought the suitcases downstairs and over to the garage and loaded up our escalade. The kids came running downstairs and came up to me saying how excited they were for the trip. Karsten brought the suitcases down for the kids and helped me load them into the trunk. “Thanks Karsten,” I say to him. “Anytime, thank you for inviting us on your family trip.” He says. “Of course, wouldn’t have it any other way,” I tell him, smiling and heading back inside. I walk upstairs and into our room and see Scarlett changing Thomas. “I could’ve done that,” I tell her, wrapping my arms around her. “It’s ok baby, you handled most of the packing,” she tells me. I smile and kiss her cheek and look down to a happy looking Thomas.

Scarlett’s POV
Once I have Thomas changed, I hand him to Louri so I can go over my list of things to make sure I have everything packed. “Babe, do you have the travel bassinet packed?” I asked. “Yes and the playpen as well,” she tells me. I go into our bathroom and make sure I’m not forgetting anything and then we head downstairs. I pack the cooler with Thomas’s bottles and some snacks and juices for the kids and water bottles for ourselves. “Ok I think that’s everything,” I tell Louri. “Great, she hands Thomas to me and grabs the cooler and places it into the Escalade. She helps the kids into their car seats and I get Thomas settled into his car seat. Hopefully he doesn’t get too fussy during the drive. Once all the kids are loaded in, Louri opens the passenger door for me and I kiss her cheek in thanks and get in. She closes the door once I’m settled and heads over to the driver's side. My mom and Dad and Lisa get into Lisa’s car and we are ready to start the journey. Louri puts the address into the gps and grabs my hand interwining our fingers and places a kiss on my hand. “Ready?” She asks. “Ready,” I reply, smiling. She pulls out of the garage and we start the drive with our parents following behind us.
